Anyone have any opinions on this? They're obviously going to raid the Big East, but I think its more complicated than that. The Big East had already been crippled by a stealth raid from the ACC, and luckily recovered with two of the new teams winning the conference in recent years. I think the BE, having experience with this type of thing, might be able to successfully defend against an attack.

They don't know how to count to eleven as it is. How do they intend to go all the way up to twelve?

They have been listing funny names for the conference on ESPN radio all day
"Big 10 and friends" "Big 10 plus some" "Big Slow"

Force all the members to immediately sign a 10-year commitment or something like that. If a school doesn't sign kick them out effective after this school year. Make the schools gamble; do you want to sign the deal or become independent hoping the Big Ten gives you an invite?

That is the circle of life...many proposed plans One has an SEC school leaving, then Florida St going to the SEC Another has Nebraska or Mizz. going to the Big 10, then the Big 12 taking Arkansas or TCU -it will just be a trickle down effect

I've heard people say that Syracuse is high up on their lists... which is absolutely ridiculous... but I think if they were to take a BEast team, they'd try to go after Notre Dame again... It's a good fit geographically and academically, plus the BEast would only miss them on the basketball side of things. They're independent in football, so it wouldn't hurt the BEast's efforts to find a 9th football member. We could yank Memphis from C-USA and all would be well again.

Hopefully they add a GOOD school, because the entire conference has been a joke in football for years now.

I hope the Big Ten take a team like Iowa State or Missouri from the Big 12 North. That way, the Big 12 can add a team like TCU to its conference.

They have been trying for Notre Dame for awhile, living in Indiana myself I don't see why Notre Dame just doesn't so it since they already play Michigan, Purdue and Michigan St. They could easily fit IU in there and Illinois.

No idea who the new team would be, but their conference really needs it. Lack of championship game, and shorter season compared to everyone else has killed them in bowl games. If they do get that 12th team, they really need to change the name of the conference. I favor something in regards to the Great Lakes or something along those lines. ESPN reported today that Missouri was somewhat interested in talks about it. If Missouri leaves the Big 10, I favor TCU joining the Big 12.

Notre Dame = NEVER going to happen They make waaaay too much money from NBC w/ their private TV deal -though it makes the most sense in every other way -but ND has no motivation to do it...play who they want to (don't adhere to a conference schedule), BCS eligible, money from TV deal

Rutgers makes the most sense when you break the whole thing down.

why would they leave the big 12 for the big 10...downgrade FTL (both Mizz. and Nebraska were rumored to be on the Big 10's wish list...but both had not shown interest in the Big 10)

Well if Mizzou leaves, then it wouldn't hurt the Big 12 to pursue TCU.

That would be better for the Big 12...better team IMO But that still would not explain Mizz. leaving -go from the #2 or #3 best conference behind the SEC to the #4 (big 10)
