Bill O'Reilly thinks Earth is the only planet with a moon

So apparently our tides come in, and they go out; and our planet is the only one with a moon.

I love how he calls other people pinheads and then says Mars doesn't have a moon.

That video has 209 likes and 6,227 dislikes on youtube. :lol: I don't know if I've ever seen a like/dislike ratio like that.

Meh, I would be shocked if more than 10% of the population actually know what planets have moons and how many before every chimes in on how "dumb" he is.

Care to link where he said otherwise? He was incorrect of about some of the planets and their moons but he never said no other planets have them unless we're reading two different articles.

And from what I'm seeing, you're defending him by saying that he didn't actually say the words, "Mars has no moons" so therefor it's ok. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm defending him because he never said there is only one moon and that the title is just as fail. Was what he said incorrect? Yes but it's annoying when all the internet astrolical and space master come out of the wood work and make it out like they could name off these moons and what plannets they belong to.

A couple of problems here for me. You're saying that because he didn't actually say the words, "Mars doesn't have moons" there was no way he could have meant that, even though it's blatantly obvious that he did in the context in which he said it.

And are you also saying that it takes an "astrolical/space master" to understand elementary school science?

While we're on the subject does Earth's moon have a name? I know we just call it 'moon' but there are so many cool names for moons int he solar system (Europa, Titan, Triton, Calypso...etc). All we get is the generic term moon.BreakTheseLinks

Wikipedia says that it has two moons:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marsbut there might be some kind of scientific technicality that makes it so that they are not counted as moon. IDK.

I'm not a science expert, but I always thought it had two moons.

He isn't a conservative. That being said, I can't defend him on this one. I'm typically a pretty big O'Reilly fan, but when I watched that video, the force of the facepalm that I indulged in nearly gave me a concussion. Are you ****ing serious Bill? If you want to prove God's existence, this isn't the way to do it.

He said, "Did we just get lucky? Did some meteor do this?" when talking about the reason we have life.

And in the beginning of the video he said, "How come Mars doesn't have moon?" and then he said "Why don't other planets have life?"

This is clearly implying that having a moon has something to do with having life, which would imply that on a planet with life has a moon, which is why he thought that Mars doesn't have a moon.

In your second sentance he is also implying that god put the moon there to control our tides.

The only thing is he implying is that god did all this not that moon has something to do with life.
