Just thought I would share this with you for kicks. I didn't see it posted elsewhere so if it was and I missed it, feel free to lock the thread. Thanks.

So apparently our tides come in, and they go out; and our planet is the only one with a moon.

Meh, I would be shocked if more than 10% of the population actually know what planets have moons and how many before every chimes in on how "dumb" he is.

I believe it's elementary school science to learn that other planets in our solar system have moons.

The only planets without a moon are Venus and Mercury. Mars has two, Jupiter has 63 (so far), Saturn has 61 (so far), Uranus has 27, Neptune has 13, and Pluto (when it was still considered a planet) had three.

Care to link where he said otherwise? He was incorrect of about some of the planets and their moons but he never said no other planets have them unless we're reading two different articles.

I had to make sure, seeing as how he was talking about earth's moon, and then with a following response exclaimed that Mars "doesn't have that."

And from what I'm seeing, you're defending him by saying that he didn't actually say the words, "Mars has no moons" so therefor it's ok. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm defending him because he never said there is only one moon and that the title is just as fail. Was what he said incorrect? Yes but it's annoying when all the internet astrolical and space master come out of the wood work and make it out like they could name off these moons and what plannets they belong to.

He was clearly implying that Earth is the only planet with a moon as his whole point rested on Earth being the only planet with a moon. I don't kow why you'd bother defending this. Is it simply because he's a conservative?

A couple of problems here for me. You're saying that because he didn't actually say the words, "Mars doesn't have moons" there was no way he could have meant that, even though it's blatantly obvious that he did in the context in which he said it.

And are you also saying that it takes an "astrolical/space master" to understand elementary school science?

While we're on the subject does Earth's moon have a name? I know we just call it 'moon' but there are so many cool names for moons int he solar system (Europa, Titan, Triton, Calypso...etc). All we get is the generic term moon.

Oh, OK.

I thought that you might be saying that Mars doesn't have a moon, which another person said.

Wikipedia says that it has two moons:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marsbut there might be some kind of scientific technicality that makes it so that they are not counted as moon. IDK.

I'm not a science expert, but I always thought it had two moons.

He's implying god gave us life in the first sentance.

In your second sentance he is also implying that god put the moon there to control our tides.

The only thing is he implying is that god did all this not that moon has something to do with life.

He was clearly implying that Earth is the only planet with a moon as his whole point rested on Earth being the only planet with a moon. I don't kow why you'd bother defending this. Is it simply because he's a conservative?

He isn't a conservative. That being said, I can't defend him on this one. I'm typically a pretty big O'Reilly fan, but when I watched that video, the force of the facepalm that I indulged in nearly gave me a concussion. Are you ****ing serious Bill? If you want to prove God's existence, this isn't the way to do it.

If he's not a conservative, what is he?

He's what you get when a necromorph mates with Geoffrey Rush. In other words, an independent.

I'm not a fan of him but I'm pretty sure he wasn't referring to the moon when he said "why doesn't mars have it"
