I'm guessing you're simply referring to the Chruch burnings in Norway, and those hardly had anything to do with Black Metal or Satanism. The Church Burnings were part of a significant date of a Viking Raid that was part of retribution against Christianity for its resentment against the viking people back in the middle ages. Not all Black Metal bands are like that, and those church burnings only happened once. It sounds like you're just basing your opinion off of something that you hardly understand.

It's as serious as Kiss are when wearing their costumes on stage. It's just theatrics. People today are just too threatened by something different and come up with ways to think it's serious - therefor making it seem to silly to be listenable.

And black metal is great. If you think it's not music, you're just insanely ignorant. But the music does go against society and it's a rebellion against rock and roll (garbage), making music artistic again. Rather a false generalization... most of the "satanic" image is for the sake of just that; image (as GodLovesDead said before). Even so, if a band was actually "satanic", the fact has nothing to do with how their music SOUNDS, and shouldn't encouage or discourage you from buying their music. I have yet to hear a listenable black metal band, but I don't discriminate based on image. As I was saying before, horrible music + ridiculous (and serious) image = mega funnay lulz.

Black metal is alright, kind of abit hard to get into but once you start to feel a song it really lasts. But I'd much rather listen to the power metal scene, much because happy melodies make me well... happy... Too many black metal-heads consider it "Cheesy" :roll: But I guess every music seen has it's annoying fans... ESPECIALLY the Classical Noobs, I'd swear they think they're the most sophisticated beings on the planet... just because you like classical music it automatically makes you smart... :roll: Ick, sorry for ranting...
