I've been hearing so much negative press on RIM and it's BlackBerry device, I had a couple of BB's, my most recent one was a Bold 9700 and loved the phone. I ended up switching though to an Android device(HTC Droid Incredible) but for me, I love the Incredible but I miss my BB for it's awesome keyboard, and messaging.

It just seems as if the analyts are saying RIM is in deep danger, but is the BlackBerry really that bad? Personally I loved my BB devices, I was a bit letdown with the Torch since it's so underpowered, but hopefully the next Torch will be faster to keep pace with the Android, and iPhone devices out in the market.

So BlackBerry fans and users, do you think RIM is headed in a down ward spiral, and will be irrelevant in the market?

Never ever get a blackberry. I just traded my Blackberry Pear Flip for a new phone, it had freezing issues and it ran slow, it shut itself off all the time, ect.

It was just a terrible, terrible phone.

Honestly a Pearl Flip is a bad phone, I wouldn't even recommend it. If you wanted a good BlackBerry you should have got a Bold or a Curve.

I had the curve before, that too had the same issues.

I got fed up with them and just gave out and bought new phones all together.

Blackberry's only real advantage come form having better support for Exchange, encryption, and remote services than other phones. If you have no need for any of those 3, which are heavily business oriented, why get a blackberry?

Blackberry isn't that bad, but it doesn't have the mind share that Android and iOS have. The platform is older and has the stigma of being a business phone platform and not a good choice for consumer phones. The Blackberry OS is also showing it's age. The OS hasn't changed much over the years, even the new version RIM recently showed off was more of the same. There isn't anything to be excited about in the world of RIM.

My dad has one, loves it. He only uses email and the internet most of the time though. ButI like keep my phones simple just calling and texting all i need, i dont really need the personalization part but if i have it, what the heck, throw some ringtones in and wallpaper and BOOM! Done. :)

The keyboard and intergrated security are two big thumbs up, but I've had so much trouble with the antenna and wifi.
And for some reason, it decides to shut off whenever it feels like it.
Still, I prefer BB to iPhones anyday.

not bad, just compared to other smartphones on the market it's not as great. BB has not really evolved as much as it's competitors have and it is going to cost them as people switch to other phones. There has been talk of them eventually being bought up by one of it's competitors, seems like it may be a matter of time

Every BlackBerry I've had has had issues. The only reason I still have the Storm is because I'm in love with the click screen typing. Otherwise it's not that impressive...
