I believe he is talking about the diamonds in Africa sold to fuel bloody civil wars and revolutions. these were made popular by the movie blood diamonds. though I am not sure what he wants us to discuss about them.
they are diamond that are minded in different parts of africa, and they are used to fund personal vendetta's of rich war lords, which include massacring people because they have a different religion, political view, etc... they arnt litterally "bloody"

The movie didn't make it popular. It's been a known problem for years, but people choose to ignore the fact that families are suffering and still by them.

thats horrible, you you know how many people we're massacred because of them? But there is a facility in California that can make diamonds overnight. yup.. man made, superior quality, 1/10 the price.
