Bomb Tech Survives Blast

Thai bomb disposal expert survives car blast details how a Siamese bomb tech was blow about 10 feet (not meters as the article states, 10 meters would have blown him out of the video). I think what save him was the explosives being in the trunk and the one door being already open. If you look, the back of the trunk is peeled wide open while the rest of the car appears to be intact.

Talk about a lucky son of a gun. He suffered only minor injuries. Thoughts?

Definitely looks like the explosives were in the trunk. Also, if there were any in the front of the car, he hadn't actually managed to open the door when the explosion occurred. All of this would have served to decrease the pressure wave from the explosion and that combined with his suit most likely saved him.

I wonder what the health insurance premiums are like for bomb techs....
