I realize that I let a fair amount of people borrow my stuff. Ranging from books to computer parts. Looking back on all the stuff I've let a certain friend borrow I've noticed that a bunch of stuff he has borrowed he's returned it in bad condition. Books with stuff spilled all over them that were in brand new condition. A controller for a computer that came back with buttons not working. DVD's that get scratched up. It irritates me to let people borrow stuff and not care about the condition they return it in, but for some reason I still let people borrow my stuff to continue to degrade it. Anyone else have this happen?

That's why I don't let anyone outside of my immediate family borrow anything. I suggest you stop loaning him things.

Unfortunatly I'm one of those people that borrows things, and usually return them worse conditions than before. I've never broken anything completely though.

I dont let someone borrow something unless I know they wont **** it up.

Like you used to NEVER be able to let my cousins borrow something like a game because it would get all scratched up, but now that they have grown alittle older, I can trust them when letting them borrow something because I know they will take care of it.

Yeah I've lost some games due to letting people borrow them... like Star Fox (SNES), MGS (GBC), and RE4 (GC)... damn jerks... but that is why I don't let anyone borrow anything anymore... luckily I bought another Star Fox game and bought RE4 Wii Edition so I still have two the of games that are gone...

I tend to not loan my things out if I can't afford to have them ruined. Basically, before I loan something out, I picture myself smashing it with a hammer and throwing it in the trash. If that image would make me upset I don't loan that thing.

I tend to take great care in the things I borrow, sometimes more than my own things. I only borrow stuff that are easily replacable though.

Same. I do, however, let friends borrow things (Other than money) if it's something I'm not too worried about. I always let people borrow stuff with the attitude of, "I'm never going to see this again." So in a way, I have the just give it to them attitude. And if they give it back, great, if not, I was prepared. :P

Same story, I never lend anyone anything. Other than my girlfriend, but that's because she treats all my belongings like they're the finest piece of art, or a bomb.

Family can be worse. If I ever loan anything to anyone, it is with the cautioning that if it is returned in worse condition, they will pay the damages. That, and I don't lend hardly anything.

never had that problem much with friends... the last thing i remember being broken by a friend when i let him borrow something was my sweet mask switchblade helicopter... the kid broke the latch that holds the wings back so it couldn't go into chopper mode anymore :( i was so pissed off... he blamed his sister and said she broke it... i didn't buy it..

here's some nostalic pics for those born before 1988

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.

You're going to keep getting your stuff wrecked unless you can be brave enough to say, "you can't borrow that because you don't take good care of my stuff."

I've had all my Ratchet & Clank games I had for PS2 destroyed by people I lent them to. I can't put into words how angry this makes me.
