Is just me or does it seems that's it's been really, really hot here in the United States. The state I live in, I have never experiences a summer this hot in all the years I have lived here. In places like Texas, river beds have totally dried up, you could literally see scores of dead fish where the river bed has dried up. I have heard of in some cases, it rivals the drought America experienced back in the 1930's.

Coolest summer ever here in Washington that I've experienced. I don't think we've even hit 90 yet. A few years back it did hit 107 though.

It's always like this everywhere in the US. Every years it's like a revelation to people that summer is burning hot. Heck, it's actually been unseasonably cool here in SoCal this summer. That's news. :P

I live in Georgia and it's been hotter than normal, but not by too much. We've gotten a lot more rain this year than in past years though, so no drought here.

Uh..no. I lived in my state for many years I never experienced this much heat. You should move to Texas where you see dead fishes lying on river beds that's dried up. That's never happened in like...I don't know decades.

Maybe in your area. Blazing heat and droughts are normal in TX also. TX get's worse droughts than even here.

Have you never had a midsummer night's picnic?

They one of the awesomest things ever! And afterwards we usually shimmy on down to the quarry and build a bonfire and sometimes have a bit of a swim. I made shortbread earlier and have some alcoholic ginger beer too! Shame transporters haven't been invented so you could pop on over ;)

Stress on the alcoholic ginger beer. Lashings and lashings of it :P (Hrm don't suppose you were a Famous Five fan o_Ô) And silly scientists should get cracking on transporters instead of, y'know, stopping everywhere getting really hot or whatever.

It be like tree-hunnid fiddy degrees out chea.

But seriously, I can count on one hand the times it has rained here this summer here in the Houston area. The lake by my house has a bunch of "beaches" in the middle of the water because the water level is so low.

And even the times it has rained it hasn't been much. We all dried up out chea.

I keep hearing about this heat wave and yet cold weather has spoiled backpacking season for me here in California. The Sierras were still reaching subfreezing temperatures at night until recently, which is not typical at all.

yeah there is a prettty massive heatwave over most of the US right now. It's not gonna go away until summer ends, which coincidentally is about when Fox News will be telling us how dumb Global Warming is once again.
