I would like to have open carry, but I would never do it - it's easier for someone to disarm you.Fightingfanheres the thing though the constitution states you have a right to bare arms to protect your home so why does the right wing assume it also covers public? wouldnt there have to be a amendment to change that from just defending homes to concealed carry in public?

It doesn't say anything about protecting your home. Even if it did, it would probably be referring to property, which would include your body.

I don't know why there is a law against open carry in the first place. You look like a douchebag and society will frown on you, but it's not like you're hurting anything.
It's one of those unnecessary laws. It's not preventing crime.

I don't see how you could have a problem with those. Even with it being illegal to conceal or open carry won't stop somebody who wants to shoot up a place. Obviously one more law won't stop them. There are millions of concealed carriers in the country yet very few incidents each year. The vast majority are responsible and, in my opinion, paranoid, but I don't see a reason to stop them from carrying.
If you only go off of what you hear in the news or from people posting on the internet you would think the USA is a shoot house with people pulling guns on each other constantly. It's not anywhere close to that. Wisconsin just got C&C laws a few years back and the amount of shootings outside of Milwaukee haven't changed. Milwaukee is a crap hole that has its own set of problems, the least of which is the availability of guns.

knives isnt in the discussion when it comes to me. if people can own grenades and military type guns than yea i should be able to own a tankWhy was this bill even proposed? Can you imagine if this was ever passed? The streets would look like GTA with the all citizens with weapons cheat activated.Shottayouth13-Lots of state have open carry, non of them look like GTA.

if you want to keep a tank on your private property, that's already legal.

It doesn't say anything about where. Just that you have to right to bear arms. What, do you think it should have to specify every single location where it's okay?

Indeed. I grew up in Alaska. EVERYBODY has guns. Very few carry them openly, but some do (I have). Certainly doesn't look like that.
Weird. I always thought that restrictions on concealed carry were harsher than those for open carry.

Owning a weaponized tank (which can be legal to own with the right license) is not the same as owning a semi-automatic AR-15. They are totally differnt things. :|

That's because you're unreasonable.
Reasonable people don't hold the crimes of the individual over the people who haven't done anything.

I want you to reread what you wrote. You say you have an issue with concealed and open carry in public. Well, how the hell do you buy a weapon, carry it to your car and then from your car to your house if you do not carry it in public? How do you go from your house to your car and from your car to the firing range if you do not carry it in public? You just love to contradict yourself due to letting emotion over come logic.
Also, nowhere in the 2nd Amendment does it say that having weapons is only allowed in your house. As a matter of fact, many weapons are used for hunting which puts food on a hunter's table to eat. I suppose you do not want people to have the ability to hunt for food either due to your assinine restrictions of only keeping weapons in someones home.
How old are you really? You claim to be a taxpayer, but you honestly think like a teen with how you respond to stuff like this and the questions people ask of you to explain something related to the law and US Constitution.

im against hunting for sport and lets be honest thats what most of hunting is today and if you deny that you are just being a fool you say the constitution of the united states covers open and concealed carry so please provide the specific key part where it says that thats the same excuse all you gun owners say without backing it up.
for people who claim to be responsible gun owners you guys are so easy to get worked up. tell me something princess should a nutjob like alex jones own a weapon wile he is 247 paranoid?
hell should someone like that nfl player who got arrested be allowed to own a firearm even though he was linked with the bloods and is involved in 2 murders from last year? the patriots dropped him btw
but i guess you gun owners think alike and say well you know it was his god given right and we all should just stick together
