Meh, open carry part of my state's constitution, but I prefer to keep it concealed.

I don't like drawing unwanted attention towards myself, unless there is a reason (example, pro gun political rally)

Really got to take part in a open carry statbucks events....

I would like to have open carry, but I would never do it - it's easier for someone to disarm you.

heres the thing though the constitution states you have a right to bare arms to protect your home so why does the right wing assume it also covers public? wouldnt there have to be a amendment to change that from just defending homes to concealed carry in public?

It doesn't say anything about protecting your home. Even if it did, it would probably be referring to property, which would include your body.

Social norms have changed. Openly carrying weapons like swords was normal in societies with the technology available to make them, but now the gun which took their place is preferably hidden by normal citizens (non-military and law enforcement).

I don't know why there is a law against open carry in the first place. You look like a douchebag and society will frown on you, but it's not like you're hurting anything.

It's one of those unnecessary laws. It's not preventing crime.

I don't see how you could have a problem with those. Even with it being illegal to conceal or open carry won't stop somebody who wants to shoot up a place. Obviously one more law won't stop them. There are millions of concealed carriers in the country yet very few incidents each year. The vast majority are responsible and, in my opinion, paranoid, but I don't see a reason to stop them from carrying.

If you only go off of what you hear in the news or from people posting on the internet you would think the USA is a shoot house with people pulling guns on each other constantly. It's not anywhere close to that. Wisconsin just got C&C laws a few years back and the amount of shootings outside of Milwaukee haven't changed. Milwaukee is a crap hole that has its own set of problems, the least of which is the availability of guns.

oh trust me i have my reason and only one. its not something i like to talk about either way we look at it gun restrictions or even bans will never change things since guns will always still be around

Open carry is really dumb. It makes all situations more tense for everybody involved. If the purpose of carrying a gun is to protect yourself, painting a giant target on your back of "shoot me first" in the case of an event where you would actually need to use the gun is really stupid.

i wouldnt go that far but i do agree with you open and concealed carry will give you more attention possitive or negative expecially with how society is now my concern is not the gun but the person owning the gun. yea they can pass backround checks and w/e but what are you going to do if someone mistakens someone as suspicious and basicly shoot them and claim stand my ground? we cant deny there are some people in this world who still have racial tentions and no backround check will deterimine who is or isnt

Well if someone is concealed carry then they won't get more attention, if their gun is noticeable then they are breaking the law. (in many states). Open carry will. Not that easy to claim self defense and get away with it.

I just want to openly carry grenades.

Why was this bill even proposed? Can you imagine if this was ever passed? The streets would look like GTA with the all citizens with weapons cheat activated.

aren't allowed in the streets with them.

if you want to keep a tank on your private property, that's already legal.

It doesn't say anything about where. Just that you have to right to bear arms. What, do you think it should have to specify every single location where it's okay?

Indeed. I grew up in Alaska. EVERYBODY has guns. Very few carry them openly, but some do (I have). Certainly doesn't look like that.

Weird. I always thought that restrictions on concealed carry were harsher than those for open carry.

It would be nice to know what the Judge's reason was to block it. I wonder what he or she thinks of concealed carry.

Owning a weaponized tank (which can be legal to own with the right license) is not the same as owning a semi-automatic AR-15. They are totally differnt things. :|

Yup, which is why the judge BLOCKED something instead of MADE it.

That's because you're unreasonable.

Reasonable people don't hold the crimes of the individual over the people who haven't done anything.

I don't know why there is a law against open carry in the first place. You look like a douchebag and society will frown on you, but it's not like you're hurting anything.

It's one of those unnecessary laws. It's not preventing crime.

I want you to reread what you wrote. You say you have an issue with concealed and open carry in public. Well, how the hell do you buy a weapon, carry it to your car and then from your car to your house if you do not carry it in public? How do you go from your house to your car and from your car to the firing range if you do not carry it in public? You just love to contradict yourself due to letting emotion over come logic.

Also, nowhere in the 2nd Amendment does it say that having weapons is only allowed in your house. As a matter of fact, many weapons are used for hunting which puts food on a hunter's table to eat. I suppose you do not want people to have the ability to hunt for food either due to your assinine restrictions of only keeping weapons in someones home.

How old are you really? You claim to be a taxpayer, but you honestly think like a teen with how you respond to stuff like this and the questions people ask of you to explain something related to the law and US Constitution.

[QUOTE="LJS9502_basic"]Judges aren't supposed to make law....THE_DRUGGIE

Yup, which is why the judge BLOCKED something instead of MADE it.

Pst...that makes law.

im against hunting for sport and lets be honest thats what most of hunting is today and if you deny that you are just being a fool you say the constitution of the united states covers open and concealed carry so please provide the specific key part where it says that thats the same excuse all you gun owners say without backing it up.

for people who claim to be responsible gun owners you guys are so easy to get worked up. tell me something princess should a nutjob like alex jones own a weapon wile he is 247 paranoid?

hell should someone like that nfl player who got arrested be allowed to own a firearm even though he was linked with the bloods and is involved in 2 murders from last year? the patriots dropped him btw

but i guess you gun owners  think alike and say  well you know it was his god given right and we all should just stick together

Well isn't that just dandy. Never mind the possibility that the assh*le with the shotgun under his arm might just reconsider when he sees 3 or 4 people in the mall with guns on their hip...
