I've have to say BBC shows really stepped up their game in the past few years.

I've been pretty ignorant on international media. Always thought the best stuff was right here in the US. But I've been recently introduced to BBC shows and I'm hooked.

Are they any other BBC shows I should check out? So far I've been watching:

  • Doctor Who
  • No Heroics
  • Misfits
  • Torchwood
  • The Office

I'm primarily into comedy/fantasy/Sci-Fi/drama

Skins and Top Gear for sure. Skins for drama, Top Gear for comedy (seriously I hate cars but love that show.)

I enjoy the British detective shows. I'm waiting for the latest George Gently season to be show here in Australia, they're taking their sweet time about it though.

Blue-Sky

Merlin

Its a retelling of the Camelot story.

Full of action, magic, and comedy.

Merlin

There is also Being Human, but I've only seen the US version (which was awesome)

Best summarised as a vampire, a werewolf, and a ghost walk into a house together.

UK vs US cast

Sweet, Netflix is streaming Merlin, skin and Top Gear. I'll definitely check it out.

Blue-Sky

Merlin is on hulu as I recall too

And I think the US version of being human is on either hulu or syfy's web page

Edit: Being human does have some episodes on syfy video section to view

Can't believe no one has mentioned the IT Crowd. Great show, some seasons are on Netflix if I remember correctly.

Misfits was on E4.

The Office isnt even on re runs. British TV is crap for the most part. However, The Shadow Line on BBC2 is extraordinary at the moment. And Torchwood's only redeeming quality is that its set in Wales

Brass Eye & The Day Today

Nathan Barley - genius. I rewatched it the other day and it's more revelvent today than it was when it came out 6 years ago. An early hipster p*** take - reminds me over Shoreditch/Hoxton Square in London back in the day. I'm sure it must have been based on that.... Anyhoo there's a clip hereYouTube - Rise of the Idiots

An Idiot Abroad is hilarious. Follows a guy called Karl Pilkington, who dislikes travel and is a sandwich short of a picnic, being sent to the wonders of the world.

I checked, and it seems it aired in the US on Discovery's Science channel, I don't know if they have any sort of online catch-up thing.

Edit: Already been posted... well, check it out anyway :P
