Ali was much bigger had better reach and is just as fast if not faster with hand speed. He definitely had more power than Bruce Lee. Depends on if it's a boxing match or a street brawl. Street Brawl Bruce wins. Boxing match Ali hands down. rudyroundhead

You do know that Bruce did this thing on a show. He had a 300lb football player stand up and he would hold is fist 1in from the mans chest and drive his fist forward with enough power to knock the guy off his feet. That is true power

Muhammed Ali simply because he was much bigger. He would absorb Bruce Lee's attacks like a cushon and Muhammed Ali would just wait forBruce Lee to wear himself down then knock his teeth out while his reflexes are fatigued.

Boxing is a test ofendurance. The one that can tough it out longer and take the most abuse will be the one standing in the end.

bruce lee he a freaking machine he is a martial arts legend and he was trained in western boxing and won the 1958 boxing championchip against 3 time champ Gary Elms by knockout on the third round. bruce lee is skilled in both boxing and matrial arts. so bruce lee all the way

Wow you can quote a wikipedia page, you have brought nothing new to the argument.

I already said that lee was a boxing champion, this doesnt change the fact that Ali is bigger and thus can take/do more damage.

Ali has been there.....ali has been on the verge of defeat, ali has been knocked down and gotten back up, ali was heavy weight champion of the world more then once whereas Lee beat a washed up Elms in an AMATUER championship. Its possible to win an Amatuer championship with 2 fights.

Your including quotes from Bruce Lee? the man has nothing on Ali's smack talking skills. The difference is, when Ali claims he is the greatest....hes right.

qoute: bruce lee, "To tell the truth....I could beat anyone in the world.

Bruce Lee, definetely is better, cos Ali was great with his legs, but Bruce was able to hit you with any part of his body, and I think that Kung-fu and etc. is better than simple box.

Anyway : The best of´em is Chuck Norris. Chuck Norris is faster than his shadow, and during the WW2 he´d shoot an German plane by yelling BANG.

Muhammed Ali was a powerful fighter but I don't think anybody knows just how much of a martial genius Bruce Lee was.

In writing a biographical report for him I found that at one time he was with a friend who was a master of a North African style of staff fighting. Bruce watched this friend perform a series of moves that were considered the highest skill possible today...

He then paused...and said, "If it were me, I'd do it like this."

Picked up the staff and performed a series of moves that had his friend's jaw hitting the floor.

The moveset he performed was actually officially named escrima, and was the absolute most advanced style in that fighting form. Bruce had no prior experience with that particular staff.

That...and he sent a man nearly twice his size flying across a boxing mat and into a chair with the infamous "1 inch punch".

Jeet Kun Do is a martial art nobody but Bruce can do perfectly it seems, hell, Bruce's old master retired into the mountains of China because he could teach none better than Bruce.

Of course I meant with his hands not legs, he was profesional boxer, not "kicker"

it really depends. Bruce lee had the martial arts down pat...but probably couldn't stick with solely boxing. In a boxing ring, Ali would win, however, street fighting bruce lee would own him.

You guys just arent getting it........both are good fighters but Ali is the clear victor. We are talking about a streetfight here between a lightweight and a heavyweight. WTF do you think is going to happen? How hard do you think it is to land One...single....punch!?!?? Not very.

Dont give me this "No wai nobody can hit Bruce Lee coz hes liek a moovie star and stuff, held just bicycle kick ali in da face!"

It is physically impossible to avoid Ali calibre punches for the duration of a fight.

Dont be stupid children, espeically in the tighter confines of a bar or even "the street", Ali wins by stunning knockout from a monster punch. In a real street fight only basic instincts are used.....Lee isnt going to be able to do any complex moves for at least teh first second of the fight. Unfortunatley this is all Ali would need.

EXACTLY! thank you lonewolf.

Ali is bigger so he must be better, quite correct. Both are good fighters but Ali wins because he is physically bigger.

You guys SEVERELY OVERRATE Bruce Lee and SEVERELY underrate Ali.

The One Inch punch has been known since the Ancient Greeks. The point that Bruce was making, was that the power of a punch came from your body, and didn't matter how close or far away your arm was. Also, Jeet Kune Do is NOT A STYLE OF FIGHTING! It is purely a philosophy that in reality, you can not only apply to fighting, but how your live your life. A lot of lies have been made about Bruce Lee that make him more superhuman than he was. I'm a HUGE fan of Bruce Lee, but I don't pretend he's the greatest ever, especialyl cause I've never seen him fight (movies don't count) and he never put it to the test against other people other than sparring and "anecdotes."

Boxers are scary fighters, and are really underestimating their worth to Martial Arts. People from the Netherlands beat the Thai's in Muay Thai cause they mixed boxing with Muay Thai. Muay Thai arguably the ultimate stand up style, and boxing was proven to be effecting against it.

I don't know who would win, but I've actually seen Ali fight, which I can't say for Bruce Lee. So I'm going to have to say Ali would know him out.

Bruce Lee isn't the only one who can do a one inch punch. So many people I talk to have this misconception that Lee invented it, but it's been around for hundreds of years. I met a master of Wing Chun who actuallyknew Bruce Lee personally, I saw him do the one inch punch in person.

If you're referring to Bruce's 'old master' Yip Man, he had many other pupils besides Bruce whoonly trained with him for a few years. In actuality, Bruce Lee abandoned Wing Chun as a fighting style because he felt it was too restricting. He developed Jeet Kune Do which is not a martial art, but a philosophy. There is no standard for what Jeet Kune Do is. It is essentially free style fighting, using whatever is most practical to win a fight.

So as a freestyle martial artist, Bruce was a genius and would probably beat Ali.

Red XII produces the kind of argument i can accept, even if i dont agree with he's conclusion.
