[QUOTE="xscrapzx"] Because clearly you don't understand how the economy works, because if you did you wouldn't be making the statements that you are currently making.
An economy is based on output, a recession is means that there is less output than recent periods, which is what we are currently in. At the end of '01 the country went into a recession because of obvious reasons and other reason such as tech stocks not being worth as much as they once were. The country soon came out of the recession fairly quickly around 02-03 one of them being the war. Now it didn't boost the economy 10 fold and it wasn't solely the reason why it came back into an expansion, but with war means things need to get manufactured, things are being bought and sold and used. With that being said things needing to be manufactured, means more labor, means people are working, means people are spending money when they have jobs. So yes the war did help the economy in its early stages, but as time has dragged on the war is indeed over, its trying to keep peace in a country thats in disarray. At this time with the housing market being the way it is and inflation being as high as it is, the war isn't helping, but it did at one time.

Actually I understand it quite well....and the economy is not doing well. But what does that have to do with your statement that the Iraq War stimulated the economy? I asked for proof that the war stimulated the economy which you still maintain. And still haven't provided....
Did you read anything I just wrote? :| Everything I just presented to you is fact! I told you where to look for the graphs and if you don't want to take the time to go and look them up then don't. You were born with hands and eyes, go google FRED like I said and look at the numbers its not that difficult.
Also I just explained to you how the war stimulated the economy in the earlier stages of it, if I'm not speaking english please let me know. :|
