Buying a new car and wanted some opinions

I'm going this weekend to look for a new car. I have a few dealers that I'm going to hit and here's the ones I'm looking at:

2007 Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec-V

2008 Mitsubishi Lancer GTS

2008 Volkswagen GTI MkV ('07 shown, but looks similiar)

2008 Volkswagen Rabbit (fully equipped)

2008 Mazda 3 ('07 shown, but similiar)

2008 Subaru Impreza 2.5i

I'm trading in my 2007 Saturn Ion Quad-Coupe. Anyone have any suggestions on these cars or own one of these that can give me some insight? I read online reviews, but they don't really help.

Would it not be possible to keep the car you have now and buy a motorcycle instead of trading in and getting a new one?

If they're 2008 models then how can you check them out? Btw, do you have a link to the 2008 Mazda 3 model? I'm curious to see how it looks like.sthadji

My wife had an '07, but it had engine issues, so they are giving her an '08 next month. It's almost exactly the same.

It must be a face-lift model or something, because it looks extremely similar to today's version.

The auto industry is a year ahead. '08 models hit around the middle of '07. My '07 Saturn was out around this time in '06.

It has some mechanical problems (power windows working when they want and my car almost stalls with the A/C on at idle. Just to name a few), but when I take it to the dealer they tell me that nothing's wrong and that the car works as factory specs. I get tired of the run around with Saturn.

The Mitsubishi is pretty.bluezy

I think that the Lancer is the car I might go with.

Edit: Not just because it's pretty, but it has a lot more features that the others don't (touch screen navigation and a stereo with a 30gb HD that you can rip you music CD's to). It doesn't have the the quickest engine out of the bunch, but there's just something about the styling that I love! I guess it's the "shark nose".

Which car has the best miles per gallon? Choose that one, they all have a somewhat nice shape.mosa922

I agree with this guy. Make sure they get good gas mileage too.

Well, I went yesterday to the look at some cars and I bought the VW GTI. It was a little more expensive than the Lancer, but this car will blow the doors off the '08 Lancer. Seriously! 2.0L T pumping 200bhp with a 6-speed trans. This car is so light on it's feet it's crazy. Definitely happy with my purchase! Actually, just got back from the mountains a few hours ago. This car carves corners like it's a surfboard. :D
