I'm about to head to blockbuster and I want to buy 2 M rated games ( ASsasin's creed and SPlinter cell double agent ) but the problem is I'm not 17 yet , just 16. Would they give it to me ? If I show them ID showing them I'm 2 months awa from being 17 do you think they'd be lenient ?

BTW , I got into violent movies with no problem and the staff seems fairly young ( in their 20s) . ANy suggestions ?

I'll bet you can't. I get carded much more often when buying games than when buying alcohol even!

If they ask for I.D they won't be leniant but if you look your age they should just give it to you. Arn't those ratings just a recomendation though?

I never buy games at the high street for this reason also i can't get I.D that they'll accept except from my passport until i'm 18 so now i just buy online.

it's much easyer to just buy it online, just use a debit card cause the minimum age is about 12 years or use paypal and go straight through your bank account.

You can't do that with BBV . And these games are some sweet deals.

They wouldn't . Not because they think this is innapropriate but because they think I'm a nut and buy too many games ( which isn't really true )

In my experience, people don't usually check for age with games, just movies.

They probably will let you get it. Back when I was younger Blockbuster and Best Buy didn't care about ratings on games.

It's the exact opposite for me. I went to FYE and picked up Gladiator and Pulp Fiction with no hassle but got carded when I tried to go pick up Gears of War afterwards.

actually, they're not guidelines. If the sales persons sells someone something without asking for ID, the parents have the right to sue the company.

I think you might be okay.. Maybe. I don't know. My parents have our Blockbuster account set up so I can rent anything I want. I can rent R-rated movies and M-rated games even though I'm still 16. That's just me, though... I also am lucky enough to look older than I am mostly because I'm pretty tall.

Anyway... you might get lucky or you might not. Maybe they won't care or notice.

Hey, I'm turning 17 in 2 months, too, what's your birthday?

By the way, better play is safe and bring your parents.

It's usually mandatory for stores to check for age when selling Mature games. Heck I'm 20 and they asked for my ID when I bought Mass Effect on PC.
