I was just curious if anyone in here (the forums) can write in the wonderful C++ Programming Language. I am just getting started in my Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, and am just starting to learn to write in C++. Anyone else have any experience with coding?

I've had a few classes in C++. It's been a while since I used it, though, so I probably wouldn't be very good at it now.

Maybe after learning C++, sufficiently, I will learn some Java, it sounds a little bit easier.

Well yeah who wouldn't like playing games more than writing them... That's not all C++ can do though. I use it mainly for writing pretty useful programs, and with C++ it's actually pretty easy to write simple code for your own custom Nintendo DS games.

Java is nice because of the massive amounts of free documentation that Sun provides for the language, including fully documented API specifications. It is a nice language to write simple GUIs quickly in, because if you have any degree of familiarity with Object Oriented Programming you can pretty much teach yourself a good deal of the basics without needing to buy anything.

I like coding simple programs. By simple I mean REALLY simple. Something like guess the random numbers and stuff like that. I cant learn the whole language, its difficult.

I am actually graduating this semester with a BS in Computer Science. C++ is a great language =) In fact I'm actually in the middle of writing a image processing program for my computer graphics course. The program takes in images and allows the user to apply various filters to it, ie: Gaussian blur, image warping, changing contrast/saturation, etc. Fun stuff, but a **** at the same time. I spent the last 4 hours trying to figure out why my contrast/saturation functions arn't working correctly.

I remember virtually nothing about it, but I took a computer class in 9th grade and they taught us basic C++ programming.

I only took that class because I heard you get to play games on the computer, but all they played was Age of Empires and I didn't like that game at the time.  I took the class again with a friend in 12th grade and we played Call of Duty like every week.

I thought it was c-pound too. I didn't find out it was actually c-sharp until I called it c-pound on a job interview and the guy corrected me.

I know. People have had funny experiences with this odd name.
