I believe there are exceptions, but they usually just go for their needs, and if they want to go beyond, they do, but they usually just don't care about the "other pleasures", it's meaningless to them, it's just "yeah yeah w/e, it's fun for a while, but I could care less" because apparently, badasses are very apathetic (apparently :|), so they may enjoy them, but, they don't strive for them. I'm very sure that there are a lot of people like that who exist, I believe they are called pessimists.
