My roomate and I have very different views and we get along perfectly. In fact, we've become pretty good friends.
sure they can, Im christian and one of my best friends is atheist.
and onther friend of mine is buddhist (although you said that didnt count/)
Yes. I live in Israel, and about 90% of the population here are religious. And a good partof those are hardcore-religious.There's a guy in my class who's seriously religious, and he's a good friend of mine. I myself somewhere between an atheist an agnistic. It's complicated..
I didn't mean that it didn't count, what I mean was that it wasn't "opposite" enough if you get what I mean. Getting a Christian and an Agnostic/Buddhist to agree on a supernatural being is easier than getting a Muslim to agree that God's name is not Allah or what not.sure they can, Im christian and one of my best friends is atheist.

oh, well even so I used to have a muslim friend too.
i couldn't see you having liberal friends pirate :PI wouldn't be friends or even associate with anyone that thinks GW was a terrorist. With that for the most part yes. I have friends who are liberal and I couldn't care less.

well, sure. If you are respectful and accepting, you can be friends with anyone...for the most part anyways.
I'm an Atheist and my best friend is a Christian. We debate all the time, but still remain great friends. Unless two people are close-minded, I don't see why two people couldn't remain friends with different view points.
Yes. I have a friend who is jewish and a liberal while I have no religion and am conservative. I don't know that we are exact opposites, but it is pretty close. We don't talk about religion because that is a very personal thing. We do talk about politics, though, but just because we disagree about that doesn't mean that we are doomed to hate each other. Why should I care what another person thinks as long as they aren't suppressing me while doing it.
Considering I like in the Bible Belt, and I'm agnostic and liberal, not in the sense of beign aleft wing nut, but open-minded, I'm the odd one of my bunch. I get along great with my friends. I just keept opinions of religion and/or politics out of fun... especially when alcohol is involved.
yes, hell one of my good freinds is a hardcore republican, me and the rest of the goup always poke fun at it becouse hes the only rep in the group. but its fine because its all in good fun.
hell he even makes jokes of it saying "you better shut up before i republipunch you." or if we go to the movies he takes the seat i want and says "REPUBLICLAIM!" :p
We can also get in huge political debates and still be great freinds
Yes. A few of my closes friends are republican. Im christian and I dated some with a Jewish religion.
There's nothing wrong with it. As long as it doesn't create any tense or difficult situations, it could work out.
Yeah definitely. I don't talk politics really with friends or family unless I know they agree with me. Either way religion and politics is usually a topic to not talk about especially if you know they have different opinions. If you know someone has opposite views then just focus on hanging out, having fun, being there for each other and not even worry or talk politics or religion.

Same here. I disliked Bush as a president, but calling him a terrorist is just ignorant. The same goes for the idiots who think Obama's a terrorist.

I thought the TC was just using that as an extreme example.
Are there people that actually believe Bush was a terrorist, at least as defined by webster?
