Green day is mainstream rock so it doesn't quality as "good".

Iron Maiden's first album "Iron Maiden" is excellent and considered rock/hard rock/early metal.

Iron Maidens self titled album is indeed excellent, but it was actually more punk rock. and the type of metal was new wave of british Heavy metal.. aka NWOBHM.. for iron maiden reccomendations i would say this order : powerslave, number of the beast, piece of mind, iron maiden, killers . from the first 2 cd's , iron maiden phantom of the opera and killers are essential songs.

Exactly, grunge for example was mainstream but a lot of people liked it.

Iron Maiden are actually Mainsteam in Britan, if im not mistaken, iron maiden or killers hit #4, and from number of the beast on every album hit #1.. all the albums are gold or platinum in the US and Britan ( obviously selling moe in britan)

everytime i open up my music download thing, i hit a mindblank. im trying to get into aerosmith, motorhead, boston, journey, and the eagles. any good songs will help. i gotta go, so i'll reply to all these tomorrow.auron_16
