If you're set on English dubs then I recommend The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Fullmetal Alchemist, Full Metal Panic!, Full Metal Panic FUMOFFU!, Neon Genesis Evangelion and Azumanga Daioh. Those are the best English dubs I've heard.AirGuitarist87Is fullmetal alchemist over yet ??

The original series ran til around 2004, but they're making a new one which I'm sure is either an OVA or just milking the series. I still have to watch all of it myself, but it's a choice of waiting for the box set or paying 20 quid a pop for each DVD. Season 1 Part 1 (ugh, I hate how they sell anime over here) is out but I dunno when Part 2 is.
Trust me on this one. If your watching Anime, watch it in Japanese with English subtitles. English dub is bad...Deadly_Fatalis
Yeah. Unless you're patient enough to wait for a bunch of good new series to get dubbed, you'll be missing out on some really good shows. Even then, a lot probably won't even end up getting dubbed.
It'll take some getting used to, but some of the best anime out there is usually fan-subbed.
i actualy never understood how fans of anime who dont speak a word of japanese prefer hearing japanese voice overs, hell if it wasnt for anime being in english i probably would have never liked it lolEuroshinobi
I agree with you to an extent. but there are some dubs that are so godawful, it's unwatchable. Lucky Star for example. All the voices sound monotone and lifeless.

Not every anime series gets dubbed, and a lot of dubs sound terrible and just don't fit the show. If you want to keep up with all of the new series coming out, you have to settle with fan-subs, and it takes some getting used to, but it's worth it.
Cowboy Bebop is the one and only answer to this query. Like already mentioned, it is very Western-centric and has amazing English voice-acting... which can be very good at easing people into the styIe.
That and its just plainly the best there is. Spike's the man and there is nothing anyone can do about it.foxhound_fox
They're making a live action movie adaptation of Cowboy Bebop with Keanu Reeves as Spike  I wonder if they'll stick with the 'fro?

I don't know why people always bag on Reeves' acting. Sure, he is a little stiff and doesn't play the dramatic part well at all, but for most of his roles he's fine. I mean he's an action star for the most part; he doesn't need Oscar-worthy talent for that. Please Log In to post.
