If you had a girl friend whose best friend is a guy and he lives way closer to her than you, and they used tolike each other or one of em did, would you break up with your girlfriend?

[QUOTE="ssaadd123"]Please dont start, no Im not. It's just a hypothetical with striking similarities to your past threads? People of the opposite sex can coexist without it being sexual in nature... This. I see no problem with opposite sexes having strictly platonic relationships. I have several. However, if your GF likes another guy THAT could be a cause for concern. Kids these days have to learn how to satisfy their women.[QUOTE="Dman0017"]are we talking about your long distance GF again?spazzx625

Due to my personal and highly-scientific studies (not really :P) this has also been my observation.Well one of my best friends is a girl, and I've known her literally as long as I can remember. I'm a human male and she's gorgeous so obviously I'm attracted to her, but whenever we talk it doesn't even cross my mind. A lot of my other friends always thought that we should get together, but honestly I wouldn't want to jeopardize what I have w/ her because I've seen friendships destroyed like that. We've both said numerous times that we love each other and she's called me her best friend for life.
Short answer is yes because sexual attraction doesn't even cross into my mind, but I know it's there because she's beautiful and I'm not gay.
[QUOTE="RJay123"]hahaha. Thats the silliest thing I have heard today. You must be insanely jealous and insecure?and you must be naive. Why would a female be best friends with the opposite sex unless she was interested? Girls would much rather talk about makeup, clothes, and relationships and those are all things best talked about with other girls.A girl having a male best friend is just an excuse for her to be dating more than one guy without using those exact words.

he's probably neither insecure or jealous, just accurate. i've lived this enough to know that yes, indeed, its just her excuse to be "dating" more than one guy. i've seen chicks lead several guys on and on and on just for the monetary attention only to have no real interest in them.
Yes of course.... i have girl mates and well thats all they are... why would someone have to be a guy to be fun to just hang out with Wolls
it's one thing to have friends that are girls, no doubt. but if you're dating a chick and she tells you "this other guy is my best friend" then no, somethings wrong there. i always thought one of the basic foundations of a good relationship is that you're best friends with your spouse.
Yes of course.... i have girl mates and well thats all they are... why would someone have to be a guy to be fun to just hang out with WollsThey don't have to be a guy to be fun around, but to hang out with girls is a different kind of fun. I would place a large wager all your "female friends" are attractive and if given the opportunity, you would do something intimate with them.

lol, generalisations.
One of my oldest and closest friends is a guy. And I never felt anything but platonic love for him.

Girls would much rather talk about makeup, clothes, and relationships and those are all things best talked about with other girls. I am naive? To think that all their is to women is makeup, clothes, and relationships is naive and childish. One of my closest friends is a woman and her and I have known one another for years, and we hang out, and not once has their ever been anything even remotely sexual. Hell, we both like comic books and talking about business. My gf's best friend is a male and they enjoy talking sports and reality TV. This holds true for the myriad of other platonic relationships I have with women. Your view of women, and likely of the world, is so skewed and immature its laughable.[QUOTE="clayron"][QUOTE="RJay123"]

I have friends who are best friend to the opposite sex etc , The person might be gay you know. I know girls who would rather talk about led zeppelin etc who are not ugly than makeup.

Really? I hear it quite a bit. I always found it silly. However, I do agree with Omni_Slash that if there is a mutual attraction between the two it could lead to something, but it is not necessarily the case.[QUOTE="flordeceres"][QUOTE="clayron"] I do not understand why people can not understand this. There would be a reason they were interested in spending time together and not just to be friends. More like the start to a relationship......different scenario.I do not understand why people can not understand this. im not saying they can't be friends. i'm saying based on the TS situation, it sounds like an excuse for her to "date" other people. i have plenty of friends that are girls, but if i was dating a chick and she introduced a guy and said "this is my best friend bill" i'd have issues with that. couple it with a long distance relationship and not seeing her in person much, yeah i'd just let her go and move on

What situation? She stayed friends with an ex. Happens. Doesn't mean she is dating the ex or anyone else.Yeah. I'm best friends with my ex and I encourage her other relationships and help her with them all the time. It's a non-issue really.

edit: one guy blelow your post mentioned an ex, obviously we're not referring to his situation but the TS
This, my friend, is a sign of maturity. Even I would not be okay with doing that depending on how the relationship ended. I hope I can become this secure with myself.Yeah.
