so i was given some statistics in class on the District of Columbia, DC suburb, and Metropolitan DC, and i was just wondering whats the difference between these three areas, or are they even different areas? thanks for the help
District of Columbia encompasses both some DC suburbs and all of the DC metropolitan area. DC metropolitan area is the city itself while the suburbs are places that are out side of the city limits both in the District, and outside it. DC surburbs not in the district include places like Fairfax and Alexandria Virginia.
