One team gets the ball and tries to get it to the opposite side of the field, the other team tries to stop them.  Then they switch!

have razor blades protrude from your body (no one will tackle you) and wear a metal glove and magnetize the ball (easy catch)

It is kind of a turned based sport but not exactly. First theres the coin flip to see who gets to choose if they want to kick or recieve. If you kick then you will get the ball 1st in the next half. Theres 4 quarters by the way and 2 quarters equals a half. Once the team kicks or recieves, then the recieving team will have 4 trys to get 10 yards. if they don't succeed then i t is the other teams ball. But what most teams do is on their 4th try they kick the ball, A.K.A. punt the ball to the other team to make them start farther away from the goal. To score just get the ball to the "Endzone" or in other words all the way down the field. A touchdown is worth 6 points, a field goal is worth 3, and Extra point, which is a kick right after a touchdown is worth 1 point, and a 2-Point Conversion is worth 2 points. 2 point conversions can be down right after a touchdown but are very risky. Thats the basics.

I don't know anything about postions, all i know about American Football is you have to get the ball to the other side of the field to score a touchdown and touchdowns score 6 points. And thats it.

Each team has 11 players on either side. Theres an offense which is trying to score and defense which is trying to stop the offense from scoring. Offensive players vary from handing the ball to a "Running Back" which then is in charge of running down field to gain as much yards as possible. He has blockers,AKA Offensive Guards, Offensive Tackles, and centers which will help in his goal. A "Quarter Back" can also throw to a "Wide Reicver" or "Tight End" Tight Ends are also used for blocking.

Is the Running Back the guy behind the guy who's touching his a** before passing the ball to him.... if that made any sense??

Why don't you read Wikipedia's article on it? It explains American football quite a lot.
