Hm, I don't know. I know some cases where deaths in movies have amused me, but generally violence and gore disgusts me regardless of the context. I.e. Hot Fuzz, the church spire scene was supposed to be tongue-in-cheek style, but it was gross as hell...

Braindead is a classic film, I love the scene just before the lawn mower part, where the fat guy is just chopping them all to pieces.

As long as it's meant to be funny.

Like I don't imagine that watching two people beat each other to death would be funny if I were ever to actually see it in front of me, but if it were in a movie, and I could tell that it was meant to be funny, then I might think it was.

Braindead is an amazingly hilarious movie! I lol at most violent movies, even when it isn't funny, because my humour is so morbid. If a person dies in an insaaaaaaaaaanly freaky way, I burst into tears, laughing. Am I sick? :P

Well, if you know it fake from movies and video games, then yes it funny.

But to see the same thing in real life will really hit home.

I'd say on the contrary, you're as normal as a human can be. Too bad societal norms want us to believe that our basic human desires are sick.

It really depends. I can barely handle watching pure gore and complain if it's around. If it's something like standing up on a ladder and getting smashed down by a two-by-four, then maybe.

Under the right circumstances, I think violence can be funny. Although I don't laugh at extremely gory scenes, unless they're so badly done they look fake.

Although psychologically and physically violent, Blue Velvet is hilarious during certain scenes. Like the first scene when Dennis Hopper is huffing laughing gas and getting his groove on with his female hostage. Yeah...I think violence can be humorous at times.

Yes. Especially if it's unexpected.

Just tonight in My Bloody Valentine, more often than not, when the killer would randomly pop out and make some elaborate kill in like five seconds with blood and guts spraying out in 3D, it was hard not to laugh. :P
