Can you be proud of another country?

I'm British and I'm actually quite proud of Sweden. They brought us The Knife (Silent Shout was one of my personal favourite albums ever) and they also brought us Amnesia The Dark Descent. They also have low crime and one of the best Education systems in the world.

Are you proud of a country other than your own?

I _would_ be proud of the U.S.A. for all their culture and accomplishments if they didn't have serious poverty issues, no welfare for those who are disabled and need it, and the death penalty.Fried_Shrimp

I pretty much consider myself democratic.... but I am for the death penalty. There are just people in this world that do not deserve life because of the things they do.

I'm not proud of any nation as that seems to be some kind of prelude to racism, ethnicism, etc. I can respect certain things, but to "be proud" of a country means you are generalizing an entire population of people - many of whom may not contribute anything to that which you are "proud".
