...under every post? Similar to facebook or youtube? I mean GS has them in the video sections for comments, how would you feel if they were here?

It would be a huge distraction. People would thumb down anything that they don't agree with even if the post is a statement of fact. You would have metal fans thumbing down posts talking about rap, Atheists thumbing down posts that talk about Christianity, anti-military posters thumbing down posts that talk positively about the military, Conservatives thumbing down posts that are Liberal, and more. If you want to really see how the thumbs system gets abused go to Yahoo Answers and go to either the religion or politics sections. It's a literal warzone over there.

With as malicious and dramatic as most of the posters are on here, every post would be at like -18 points... Seems like so many people in here have serious issues with the world and other people in general.Messiahbolical-

It would be a disaster, espcially in system wars. Also I actually don't mind a rep system for every indiviudual users.

I go to another forum with a feature like that, and it works pretty well. Most posts get nothing because people are lazy or don't care. When someone says something really stupid, they get a bunch of thumbs down. When someone makes a long/good/funny post, they get a bunch of thumbs up. There's far fewer people at the forum, so I don't know how it would work here.

I think a like function like facebook would be better. Sometimes I just really agree with a post abut i don't have anything else to add.
