Can you tell if someone is wearing a hairpiece or wig? How?

I don't know if it's people just showing off or lying, but how exactly do you notice or have the subtle ability to tell if someone is wearing a 2-pay?

Especially in movies. I just can't bother to squint my eyes when my friend tells me "yeah look at the roots of his head they're not the same color, OBVIOUS WIG HERE!" or such.

The easiest way is to check where the hair parts. If you don't see scalp, it's a wig. Also if the hair just looks overly thick.

I wouln't be able to tell unless it was really obvious. Seems like girls have an easier time telling if someone is wearing a wig.

I don't see it. Like, unless the hair blows off and is gone with the wind, how can you possibly tell that isn't his natural hair?

Sure you just see if it blows in the wind haha.
