Canadians!! Countrymen!! (and women too HAHAHA)

It is that time again, the royals visit Canada!! Do you think we should stop paying these people our money?! I mean, what did they do to deserve it?! We would also be getting rid of themonarch, the lieutenant governor, and the governor general!! Do you think the monarch has any relevance, connection or usefulness to our people?! I think they are a dated, silly people!!

I think its more of a respect relationship than a show of 'we still have control over you guys.' It's not like they've ever imposed themselves on Canada or forced the country to do something against the people's will--I think anyway, I'm not a history buff. It's great that Britain and Canada still retain ties, even if it's more of a formality than anything else.

And yes, I am Canadian.

The Royal Family what a bunch of benefit scroungers.

woopee doo its a bunch of ppl who were born in royal society who have accomplished nothing compared to their ancestors. why should any person care about someone who has done nothing to be considered in such a high stature. i really dont care about the royal visit, its just tax payers oney being wasted for security on ppl who dont deserve it.

Canada doesn't pay anything to the royal family except when the family visits Canada (then they must pay for ceremonies, lodging, etc.).stanleycup98
