makes me sick to know this movie cost 140,000,000 to make.MonsterVisionWhy is that? That is a pretty moderate summer blockbuster budget

That is a pretty moderate summer blockbuster budget A film like the original "Predator" was made for 15 million, and has a much better impact than something like Transformers 3 made for over 100 million. It's subjective, but I don't think these films like Green Lantern, Xmen First Class etc.. are worth a 100 million budget. It doesn't show.

How much did you think it was going to cost? It's a summer blockbuster superhero movie, the big budget is reasonable.

I just was wondering what you meant
I saw it for the 2nd time. It is a really good movie. Even people in the theater that aren't comic Marvel fans loved it and clapped.
I liked it even though it was pretty cliche. The ending truly pissed me off though.
That was such a huge slap in the face for him not only to wake up 75 years in the future but then he says, "I just had a date." When he said that it left me thinking "WTF." Not only did they have the audacity to just stop the love story that was present throughout the entire film without concluding it, the way he said it was like, "oh, crap I had a date but I missed it because it's 70 years in the future, well everyone I've ever known including the girl of my dreams is dead but oh well." I mean wtf who wrote that ending? Seems like they made that movie just as a pre-cursor to the Avengers film coming out
With a better ending: 8.5 or 9 depending on how good it was With that pos ending 7-7.5

Yea the ending was sad actually. I thought they would be together for a while before he would get frozen. The love story was present through the whole movie and the girl just says "Promise me the date" right before he crashes and then BOOM. He never got to finish.
Maybe they just wanted to give the story a really dramatic ending.
I'm going to see it this weekend. He's my favorite superhero. I know this is pretty obvious but, was there an after credits scene? If so how was it? I just wanna know if it's good or bad nothing too specificDarthkaiser
YES, stay after. The best after credits scene in any Marvel movie. 8)

Maybe, but it was incredibly anti-climatic. The thing about it that pissed me off so much was how un-charismatic and nonchalant it was and how it didn't tie up any loose ends. I watched it with 3 friends of mine and all 4 of us looked at each other in disbelief at how pathetic the ending was. Besides that one part though it was good. I knew my friends weren't expecting anything good but they were all pleasantly surprised.
I'm going to see it this weekend. He's my favorite superhero. Awesome, more time to eat the skittlesThree things shocked me
1. The movie was even better then I thought. Was expecting Ironman 2 quality, but got Thor level:D
2. The Theater was packed with people wanting to see CA, easily twice as much as was there when I saw HP opening day:shock:
3. That Nazi thrown into propeller scene, can't believe that made it past rating boards, but I am so glade it did:twisted:

You do realize that the original Predator came out in 1987 and that special effects and filmaking costs have increased since then right?

I think he forgot the part about the cost of things in 1987 vs present time. Also how come we have to pay 4 bucks for ice cream these days when it cost 10 cents in the '50s? :P
I loved it, surprisingly good acting from all involved... and yes, the Avengers preview is at the end of the credits.... and that looks awesome :D
yes, they play down his agility a little and his fights are... "meat and potato's" but they did much worst with wolverine.
Must see for any fan of comics or anyone who likes action movies.
Have'nt seen it yet but I'm keeping my expectations low. The entire premise of "Captain America" is downright retarded in the first place ;) I love the "Ultimate" portrayal though, because the writers ackowledged that he'd be a somewhat unrelatable party pooper of an ancient relic.
There's a reason Dr. Denmark, Mr. Mexico, Cadet Cuba and Ambassadeur Canada do not exist.
Edit: Besides, most of these super hero movies need larger balls behind them. We're getting PG13 films based on much more mature content.
Should I see it in 3D or not??? Why aren't more people talking about this movie?!
Meat_Wad_Fan
I actually thought the 3D was suprisingly good. Unlike most 2D to 3D conversions.
I thought it was pretty good. You have to wait until after the credits to get the full effect.
I liked that the plot set it up for The Avengers in a nice way... It made it better than 'person gets powers -> person is happy/sad - person is sad/happy -> person beats bad guy -> end'.
It made me sad that all the people he knew weren't around anymore when he woke up at the end though. They didn't even make a big deal about it... I was expecting him to go see one or more of them in their old age, if they were still around, but he didn't so I guess they aren't :(
3. That Nazi thrown into propeller scene, can't believe that made it past rating boards, but I am so glade it did:twisted:
dercoo
That was kind of unexpected. :P
don't worry, he gets to bang her nieceI really enjoyed the movie. The only problem I have is that he didn't get to go on a date with her!
