When I saw the title of this topic, my heart sunk. I had a great amount of respect for the man, not just for the Shelby brand, but as a person. He was fortunate to live as long as he did, and may he rest in peace.
I wonder how many people died while I was writing this post.

Someone dies every 2 seconds and someone is born every 1.2 seconds.
R.I.P to him even though I've never heard of him.

Like I said, anyone who is into car culture will know who he is.

cuz its carroll shelby.
dudes a legend in the automotive industry.
tis a shame to see/hear about him passing away.
[QUOTE="David719"]He won't be resting anymore. He doesn't exist now. You said this in the topic about MCA (Beastie Boy member) dying. Death is the ultimate rest.He was a legend. Rest in piece

This is a 1967. If you've seen Gone In 60 Seconds, you should recognize this.
[QUOTE="Kurushio"]Im not a ford guy but i do respect the man and his contributions.FightingfanHe did the charger too.
He worked for the Ford, General Motors, and Dodge at some points in his automotive career.
He also beat Enzo Ferrari's Scuderia Ferrari in the Sports Car World Championship and The 24 Hours Hours of Le Mans. Le Mans is part of the triple crown of Motorsport along with the Indy 500 and Formula One Monaco Grand Prix, a HUGE accomplishment for an American.
Hopefully Ford will commemorate a beast of a Mustang Cobra to the manspazzx625Shelby was already working on the Mustang 1000. I don't think, other than a new Shelby/AC Cobra, they could do much more to honor his death. :P However, as for his death, it kinda comes at that "oh, he's finally dead?" point. He lived a long, full life full of many firsts for cars and motorsports.

Yeah but everyone dies. Using a word like "damn" in this context as if it was unfortunate is a bit silly. It was innevitable. Please Log In to post.
