YES! Man I hear you on this, I mainly watched Nickelodean back in the day, Angry Beavers, Hey Arnold, Rocko's Modern Life, Rugrats, Doug, Rocket Power, AHH Real Monsters, Catdog, Ren and Stimpy, also Kenan and Kel and All That. All that good stuff, along with Cartoon Network with Dragon Ball Z, and Looney Tunes.

Yeah cartoons on both of these networks are lame now.

But I do have all of Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z seasons on dvd aswell as the ultimate Looney Tunes collection which has all the Looney Tunes episodes so I keep the tradition alive...sad maybe...but awesome..yeeeeah :D

For the same reason G4 Tech-TV is all Cops now. I don't know what Cops has to do with games and technology, but whatever.

see its not even that, i don't care if they have hannah montana or all that, its just this isn't what walt disney would have wanted for his company, he wanted to bring magic and dreams to people, disney now is all about selling their hannah montana backpacks and school folders and etc etc. They don't have that magic anymore, princess and the frog was a good movie and showed their are some people in disney who still know what the heck their doing.

I find cartoon network better now. Their "lack of cartoon shows" are exaggerated. The only two I can name off the top of my head are Hole in the wall and dude what would happen.

The channel to me actually seems more like early-mid 90's Nickelodeon now. And Nickelodeon feels like the disney channel (catering to the 3-8 year old crowd.)

I still think Cartoon Networks current line up is far better then it used to be. Chowder, Adventure time, Flapjack are a hell of alot better than some of their old junk.

Adult swim has been pretty awful since like 2003. They seem to think wacky randomness=adult humor.

I don't count them as part of cartoon network, really. To me they are a seperate station that happens to occupy the same channel space between specific hours.

I fully agree. Dexters lab was one of the best along with johnny bravo. Those cartoons filled my early and late childhood with great times... I still stumble across them every once in a while, very rare though.

I hated cartoon network the moment they put Toonami only on weekends. This CN real crap was the last straw. If your a damn Cartoon Network, why would you even introduce the idea of putting live action shows on?...

The same for G4TV. They were usually a game channel. Now you got Ninja Warrior, Cops, and a whole lot of non-game/technology shows airing more than their game shows....

I didn't have cable as a kid, and I constantly hear about how amazing Cartoon Network was in the late 90's. I'm guessing it's nostalgia because a lot of these shows have really not aged well.

I think the live-action stuff is horrible, but there are still some real funny shows on CN. I actually looked up the schedule on Cartoon Network, and Monday through Saturday, there's maybe 3 hours of live-action material in the entire week (the Sunday line-up is terrible, but Sunday mid-day tv is almost always horrible on any channel).

Adult Swim has become a late-night dumpster of non-funny cartoons (American Dad? Really?), but I would nowhere-near compare Cartoon Network to the fail that has become G4.

2005? Geez you're young. I remember back in the late 90s Cartoon Network was at it's peak. I know I have a couple of old tapes in my house somewhere. One of them has Balto when they played it on Cartoon Theatre one Saturday night. Another has a really old episode of Toonami (Voltron and Sailor Moon specifically) and I think I even recorded some random Fantastic Four episode too. (The old old old one) That was my favorite channel as a kid. I haven't watched cartoons in years.

Actually I have been enjoying their newer cartoons.

Chowder is great.

Johnny Test is cool.

And Total Drama Island is pretty amusing.

Sure, they aren't AMAZING like some of the old-school cartoons, but even then they have been playing a good amount of Courage the Cowardly Dog which is one of my fav old-school cartoon network cartoons.

The live action shows are downright AWFUL though...

All i remember is how much edger cartoons where back then. I mean i watched rockos modern life the other day ( i know it wasent on cartoon network just giving an example) and if they were to put that show on now it would blow peoples minds. Now shows just dont have the same level of craziness as back in the day. If you want to watch those shows again you need to get boomerang they play all of that stuff and they even have the old commercials that i remeber on it.

While I do think that there are some worthwhile cartoons (that show with the three kids who can turn into a giant robot for example) on CN right now, I still think that CN was better in the 90's early 2000's because it had more cartoons, all of which are appropriate for children, whereas the newer shows are not for children at all.

Adventure Time, Regular Show, Star Wars: The Clone Wars are all awesome. They just debuted Young Justice. I'm not a fan of DC besides Batman but it should be pretty appealing to those who like the source material. They're debuting a new cartoon next month called Mount Fort Awesome or something. They also show reruns of old cartoons like Dexter's Lab and Billy and Mandy.

At least their situation is better than Nickelodeon, where they just show iCarly and Spongebob on repeat all day.

EDIT: I mean seriously, watch the Regular Show. It will renew your faith in daytime cartoons.

Well, Adventure Time and the Regular show is pretty awesome. They've also been showing re-runs of Billy and Mandy. But that's the only good stuff on anymore on that channel. (until it hits Adult Swim. American Dad and Metalocalypse. Aww yeah.)

There's also supposed to be some new Looney Tunes show airing, but I'm not sure it's gonna be good or not.

Somewhat sad that my childhood memories in terms of TV have now been disgraced with the abysmal shows now. Samurai Jack, Ed Ed n' Eddy, Dexter's Laboratory, Johnny Bravo. They were the awesomes.
