It hit me last night while watching futurama that cartoons kick video games ass. one thing i hate about this current gen of video games is that they keep trying to replicate reality too hard. cartoons represent a wacky version of reality. cartoons are never drawn perfectly to look like reality and thats what makes them fun. id rather sit thru a family guy marathon watching randomness after randomness even if i already seen it. id rather do that than play LA Noire or fallout new vegas. these current game systems can handle so much but the only games being made has a main character that probably took them monthes to look human. video games are a lost cause. im sure the next gen will continue to be about reaity. more sports and shooting games. a few wack fantasy games. all focused on making it look like reality. no more innovation like the first astroid game. good thing cartoons are never gonna be nerfed by trying to replicate reality.

While I generally prefer non-interactive media such as TV shows (and I guess that includes cartoons), you TOTALLY aren't giving credit where credit is due.
You're basically saying that Futurama is good because it's a cartoon, instead of saying that the writers and directors and actors are simply producing good ****ing work. By saying that it's good because it's a cartoon, you're essentially taking a giant dump on everyone who puts in 110% to make it the best show that they can make it be. Yeah, it nothing to do with stuff like the writing team staying up creating new math theorems in order to get the shows to make sense. No, it's good because it's a CARTOON. Yeah...whatever.
And even then, I KNOW you've seen horrible and totally crappy cartoons. You MUST have. So that clearly means that being a cartoon is just a side-issue. If stuff like Futurama was good because of being cartoons, then it stands to reason that there wouldn't be any BAD cartoons. Yet, there ARE bad cartoons. A whole ****ing lot of them, actually. So credit the people who actually put the show together, instead of the visual style of the show.
