Which do you prefer listening to?
Cassette, CD, Vinyl or any other type of auditory device? [iPods & MP3's don't count]

Vinyl all the way. There's just something cool about sitting back with your friends, and switching out a few vinyl records while having some good laughs.
CD, because Vinyl is just a pain for me honestly. Cassette....what an abomination. raven_squad
I agree, putting the record on the track is such a hassle, I have better ways to waste my time.
To me, the whole "vinyl revolution" thing that is going on now is kind of a novelty.
Cassettes are by far the most metal. Rehearsal tapes, demo tapes, etc. all have a very dark, low-fi sound that accents the music perfectly, which is why they often sell for upwards of $200 on Ebay even if they only have two songs on them. The CD versions don't compare.
Overall I'd go with CDs for usability. Vinyl is fun to collect but not a big fan of actually listening to it.
vinyl is the best quality, their is no arguement.nimatoad2000
Theoretically, vinyl has the best quality due to the way it's constructed, since the audio data on a CD is compressed and a cassette tape degrades over time, but a question is if you want to listen to music, does one really want to go through the trouble of putting a vinyl record on the spinner each time? I mean, I think that's a chore.
CD's for me.
I really wish I had the money to buy my whole music library on CD, that way I could just rip everything to a lossless format and have the best quality on the go. I'll just have to settle for 320 mp3's for now... :(
Glad to see theirs still some of us out their ;)Vinyl. I'm an audiophile.

get get vinyl rips.Vinyl is great, unfortunately I don't have a working record player at the moment. Cassettes are soooo so bad. Luckily my dad was a serious audiophile when CD's came out so I didn't have to put up with bad tapes when I was a kid. My parents' music collection is petty funny. Hundreds of Vinyls like 30 tapes then hundreds of CDs, half of which are duplicates of their vinyls.

It takes like 5 seconds. If 5 seconds is a chore for you, I don't even want to know what you call doing the dishes.
Plus, it's worth it for the better sound.
