Which way do you prefer movies be censored on cable? Cutting out the sound or replacing the original dialogue with another/other word(s) (i.e. "darn smelly fools")?

They should never show any cinematic release that has even one filthy word in it!! Only our great lord Jesus Christ knows people dont swear in real life, so why should they in movies!!!!!!

How am I doing on time??

I prefer watching movies on DVD, so I can watch them uncensored, the way it was meant to be seen. Haven't watched a movie on cable in years.

I remember watching Die Hard 2 and when he said his classic line, instead of saying MFer he said MR. Freddy. It didn't sound right. Although censoring on TV can be funny sometimes it gets annoying.

imo censoring swear words is pointless

People already know what they are saying, and if they don't then might as well keep it in there if they don't know.

I like subtle replacing, done in a manner you won't notice.

I hate censoring of swear words in all forms, but to actually alter the dialog to make it more "acceptable" is pretty ****ing stupid.

Reminds of the time I watched Reservoir Dogs on Spike. They just silenced over the curse words

90% of the film was silent.

Dude, a censored version of Reservoir Dogs would be unwatchable. You couldn't even get the dialogue, there would be random like 10 second silent clips where the characters move their mouths but nothing comes out. Same with The Departed.

They dont censor words here, and if they do they usually just cut the film so he never says the sentence

I'd prefer they not censor it at all. It's not like kids don't hear worse at school every day anyway so I think that excuse is stupid. If you don't like the content of a movie don't watch it.

Exactly, what movie is ok for your kids to watch, but also features swearing?

If you think your kid can handle Die Hard, with shootings and death, than you should be fine with them hearing the word "Mother ****er"

I prefer the sound being cut out. It looks more natural than a bleep.

I prefer the beep because that way you still get the full affect of the curse word being spoken.

Censoring sucks. They should be heard/seen the way they were made.

I think id rather hear the beep or nothing rather than some dubbed replacement work. Although id much rather they keep the word in.
