Chances of an EMP attack on the States

I just saw a documentary on National Geographic about the disasters of an EMP attack. And I also read the book "One Second After" But im just wondering, what are the odds? Does Iran really have the ability to launch such a weapon, most of this information ive been getting from Fox News, which I dont really trust, I want some legitimate information about this threat

I'm not sure. That Price is just a loose cannon, there's no telling what he'll do.

From what I've heard so far Iran does not YET have the nuclear or ballistics missiles capacity to attack the U.S., but it appears to be working on both and in the future may be able to attack the U.S.

An EMP shuts down all eletrical devices without shutting itself down. We have satelites above america that send a signal that interfers with all emps. Also you would need a huge EMP to shut down america which would take a lot of resources.

Hmm...it's a possibility but I'm waiting for a big cyber attack myself.

Basicaly it fries anything running on electricity, an EMP strike on the United States would take years to recover from. Plus it has a chance of igniting fuel ... fun stuff yeah :D
