BBQ is extremely common in China. In most cities you can find it on just about any given street corner. Vendors are easier to find than hotdog stands in the U.S.
I've been to the Leshan buddha twice and gotten BBQ both times. As with most street foods or meat on sticks, it was delicious.Â
But this is a stupid move. THe pollution problem is caused by the unfettered manufacturers in the SEZs that have very little to no environmental regulations from the government. The biggest output of pollution in China comes from the electricity producing coal burning, which again has minimal environmental constraints from the government. The government knows this. THis is just a PR move IMO.

Damn that sucks. Chinese BBQ is pretty damn good. If the US tried this there would be riots. Capitan_Kid
The US wouldn't try anything so trivial...
Well...Bloomberg did ban 16 ounce sodas. Maybe he's part Chinese?

Or maybe the Chinese are part american.Or maybe the Chinese are part american.dave123321
Nah, they do more stupid, trivial sh*t than we do.
Edit: Like trying to build a navy to match ours.

I'm sure Hank Hill is outraged over this, there's nothing quite like some good steamy cooked meat. Especially hamburgers.Toph_Girl250Good luck finding a hamburger. Chicken feet on the other hand... There's plenty of those.
The Chinese need to look at other industrialized nations to see what they have done to curb emissions to help keep air clean. While we here in the States do have some cleaner burning coal (there are different grades of coal), we also have lots of scrubbers on our coal burning power plants so the amount of particular and smoke matter is much less than what it used to be during the beginning of the industrial age here. England also banned burning coal for heat a long time ago if memory serves me correctly.WhiteKnight77It's not likely to actually be pollution related.
I think this is a good move on the Chinese government's part. I think they are the only nation on Earth who are serious about minimizing damage to the environment.Crunchy_NutsThis is sarcasm right? China is infamous for not giving two shlts about the environment. They're the highest polluting country, by far, on earth.

It's not likely to actually be pollution related. These images speak for themselves about the industrial revolution. The famous London Fog was mostly smog, at least in the Winter of 52.[QUOTE="WhiteKnight77"]The Chinese need to look at other industrialized nations to see what they have done to curb emissions to help keep air clean.
