Hey guys, I have a PowerPoint Presentation coming up for my HS Chinese class and my teacher said it's supposed to be comparing some aspect of the two cultures. So far the other students have done theirs on: Architecture, Art, Methods of eating, Beauty and Religion. I'm trying to think of something creative to do that will hopefully be interesting (and accurate) to her. What are some interesting differences between the two cultures in your opinions (that would be PowerPoint-worthy material)?

Note for the mods: I read the "Homework" section of the rules thread and I didn't think this was against the rules so... >_>

You should totally talk about wars, weapons, and the prisons they sent prisoners to. And don't forget to mention the various torture devices they used for interrogation.

Democracy and communism?ThrillTorn

I don't think that's a fair comparison. China hardly has the characeristics of a true communist society, its basically unbridled facist capitalism

Democracy and communism?ThrillTorn

Well that one came to mind immediately for me too, but I overheard one of my friends asking the teacher whether that would be a good idea or not, and my teacher shot down his idea pretty quickly.

Hey that is a good idea! I'm gonna go see what info I can pick up from the almighty google! ;) But keep the discussion/suggestions going!

Well that's a really good idea but my friend already presented his and it was about just that topic. If I did it on religions, my teacher would probably think that I was copying him. :?

Do it on law. You could just fill your power point with pictures of dead "civilly disobediant" Tibetan monks.

Well, I think I'm going to do it on the difference between Eastern medicine and Western medicine. Thanks for the suggestions.
