I'd choose Mental Satisfaction / My Happiness anyday over Money . I'm better off sleeping soundly at night , fullfilling basic needs / requirements for my near and dear ones . And i can still earn money if i'm mentaly stable and happy .

Money is a neccessity no doubt but More Money concept only brings trouble , False People around for your money and temporary happiness ... imo . You lose Money You lose Honey .

Can Money Buy you Happiness ?

What 'd you choose ?

In this hypothetical situation, where these two things are for some unknown reason mutually exclusive, if you're happy then money cannot be earned. You effectively picked both.

Ummm ... Say You have a perfect and healthy relationship going / close & trusted freinds besides you / Happy Family / No complaints from life ...

Now you are to choose from having all above with 1 Million Dollars .

What'd you choose ? :)

I'd choose the mental/satisfaction and happiness. Although for some reason, I wouldn't be able to see myself being mentally satisfied until I reached a good job that paid well :P.

I don't believe in sustained happiness so I'll go with the money as I know that I can not only help myself, but I would be in a position to help others which would help to ease my grim and heavy mien methinks.

That's what I'd assumed from the OP but that's apparently he just meant a lump sum vs eternal happiness which makes the decision hideously easy (happiness).

Well this is a ridiculous hypothetical situation.

Sure, I could be happy with a fmly and all that but it won't do much good if I have no money to support them. And what, if I chose to have the happiness, would I Always be happy in every situation, no matter how depressing or tragic?

And I don't know about anyone else, but when I get money, I feel happiness, as I can get whatever I want and/or need to live a good life. Will choosing to pick money magically just make my own feelings such as this magically poof away?

I'd prefer the money. If I don't have to worry about earning money... then working towards complete happiness would be easier, and I would be able to make other people's lives happier as well (when I have disposable income, I tend to be very loose with it)

And I'd rather work towards happiness than just another paycheck.

what a corruptible promise as then people could always say "i could not be happy without X" next thing you know TC would be 14 trillion in debt.

The two aren't mutually exclusive, but I think I get what you're asking, TC.

I was very happy when I had VERY little money. Now that I have more money, I'm really no happier, really. Life is certainly a little less stressful in that regards, but my overall sense of happiness is about the same.

My theory is, if some is an unhappy person, all the money in the world won't change that. They'll just find different things to be miserable about besides money.

Money first. My experience along with some studies I read seem to support the notion that for the poor folks the lack of wealth is the source of unhappiness. Once the level of wealth is up to a certain level, any additional income become less and less meaningful and the person begins to seek other activities/experience that would bring upon happiness.

In short, the preference changes depend on where the person is

Zeller--

"Scary" is paying off bills to you:? Purchasing a vehicle, house, etc:? Investing money properly:?
