Nope.. Christmas is awesome. All the crowded stores, bad/cold weather, and crazy drivers suck, but that's all part of the experience. Nothing beats the feeling, being near family, the lights, food, music, games, movies, laughter, and memories. Some people hate on it, but probably don't have the same traditions. I was raised with a big beautiful tree and a warm environment, and I've done my very best to carry on that tradition for my wife and kids.
I just got back from visiting my parents Iast week for Christmas and walking into their cabin in the woods is seriously like walking into a Christmas Hallmark movie... I'll probably never go that far, but I have been looking at outdoor lights by Govee, and I plan on decorating outside for the first time next year.
We are still in the midst of a pretty major add on/renovation where we are turning our two car attached garage into a master bedroom and a workshop for the business I plan on making and after months of just myself and my father in law working my wife and I are finally living in the bedroom side and it's incredible. My boys now have their own rooms and we plan on letting them set them up and pick paint colors and the whole 9 yards. Adding an extra 500 sq. ft. of living space has already been a game changer and we all love it, including our cats.
Due to that we are having to cut back majorly for one Christmas, but what better gift can you get than new rooms, customizing, and turning the house into a smart home? Pretty cool.
A lot of things in life suck, but from Thanksgiving to New Years is always busy, happy, and a bit chaotic around my house. We have two birthdays, our 19th wedding anniversary, a work party, family parties, the list goes on and on during this time... a lot for sure, but its also nice to know you have great friends and family, and ultimately, although it can be a bit much means the world to me when I see my wife and kids smile from ear to ear and realize we might not have everything but we have a lot more than most, and to be thankful for all that we have. It really puts things into perspective when you take a step back and look at things through a different lens and realize it might not be all for you, but that was never the point in the first place.
Merry Christmas Gamespot and System Wars! I can be a bit of a Grinch at times, but my intentions are always good. Stay safe, warm, and smile. The world is a crazy place these days, but that doesn't mean you don't owe it to yourself and your family to let your guard down once in a while and just have fun.
