Which web browser is better and WHY?

I use Firefox on my main desktop because I like to customize it, its also compatible with other software I use. I use Chrome on my laptop which I only use for work and forum surfing... its faster and more streamlined.
I really like both but for different reasons...
nowadays, do you really notice a difference in speed? I once installed chrome to try and the pages loaded up the same as if I was on FF or any other browser. Basically because I have highspeed, I hardly notice a difference.I use Chrome because of its speed.

Browser speed differences are more noticeable with faster connections than slower connections, since the connection bottleneck is weaker...I use Chrome because of its speed.

Chrome, by miles. It's simple in appearance, really well structured, and extremely fast. I could give two craps about customizing the appearance of my browser when i'm browsing at double the speed.

When I start up my computer Chrome can open up almost as soon as I click it, however Firefox takes about 20 seconds to open. Whilst I'm not complaining about the 20 second wait, I'd rather not have itI use Chrome because of its speed.

It's not just the appearance. It's the speed, add ons, open source content that makes it great, not just the skins. :P
It's nowhere near as quick as Chrome in my experience (which is quite extensive. I used Firefox for a few years before Chrome)Way way faster + chrome runs each tap independantly so they are all their own process. So they can't communicate with eachother, and if one crashes it's just that one tab that crashes. Also people who say firefox is more customizable, that is true to an extent. Firefox is open source, guess what Chrome is. Well no it isn't, chromium is open source, Chrome is based on chromium. So you can edit the source code of chromium and become a lovely developer if you spot a bug or two and make your own plugin. Chrome has plugins btw. I use chromium on Linux just because of the daily builds. Chrome's daily build's are like 2-3 days.
Also people who say Opera is good, well no it isn't. For one singular reason. IT DOES NOT support the SOCKS protocal? You can't use it to tunnel traffic to a SSH server, I was shocked to see that.
I love chrome, fast, clean look, ease of use and I like the most visited page and bookmarking.

same here. I also don't need alot of customization.
FF. It has a few add-dons I rather not browse without and the speed difference with my FF is hardly noticeable. Though being so flimsy does obviously make chrome more lightweight to some.
Tried all the various browsers, ended up preferring Google Chrome(noticable speed difference). Firefox is really good, tho. I´d recommend both. Opera aswell. (Especially Opera Mini works well, if surfingon cellphone)
Personal preferences really, they each have their strengths and weaknesses. Can´t go wrong with any of them.
