you misspelled breastsJandurinLmao...
And this.Because those kind of churches are full of bigots with no sense of what Christ tried to teach.
T_P_O
Well, banning breasts is a clever way of getting round banning women outright. No fat male bible thumpers either, that would mean.
If I recall correctly, women aren't even allowed to talk in church according to the bible.bean-with-baconCorrect.
Church not allowing women priests? Why does the church not have to but all other jobs do? bcroger2Only in certain denominations such as the Catholic church and the Eastern Orthodox church. The Anglican and numerous Protestant churches such as Methodists and Christian Universalism do ordain women.
No priests celebrate the Sacraments, including Mass and Baptism, and Nuns simply assist at the church's, pray for others, and live a life for Christ.Wait are'nt priests and nuns the same thing?:| i don't know since i'm not christian.

[QUOTE="clembo1990"]Well Catholicism is outdated. Any news?ferrari2001and that sir is an opinion. Nah its fact, notice that in the instiution of the Pope all the important positions are for men in which they can make decisions.. Its a aging partriachal society that is a leftover of inferior socities of old. It has to do with the fact that women during those times had no rights and were not much better than property.. This isn't suggesting that Christianity or any religion is wrong, but I think it nieve and ignorant to suggest that there are logical reasons for these practices.. Instead of it being due to social practices.

What about denominations that don't believe in evolution and countless other scientific theories. Or religions that teach killing in certain circumstances is appropriate, or the various other much larger outdated views. There are very specific important reason why they can't be priest some which I already stated. And is it really necessary for women to be priests?

And yeah those organizaitons are just as backwards as the one stated.. How bout the "cute" thing the Pope did with rearranging the child molesting priests instead of letting them be tried in court.

How many Protestant ministers are not tried in court, just as many as catholic Priests, at least the catholic church requires them to take counseling and has the virtues program, and 4 months of screening for all new coming seminarians, most church's don't do half the stuff the catholic church does to try and stop this kind of abuse not only by their own ministers but but everyone, the bias against catholic scandals in the US is tremendous.
And no one has a say in the catholic Church if you think about it. Even the pope is limited by the teachings of Christ. He is the only man who has some authority over the church, so technically not even the men (besides the pope) have any more say than women do.
Church is stupid, outdated, and utterly pointless unless you are old and on your death bed, clinging to any hope of salvation. Or young and easily manipulated to believe without question. Religion preys on the weak and feeble minded.MotherSuperiorGee, thanks for the compliment. >_>
According to the Catechism of the Catholic Church:
"Only a baptized man validly recieves sacred ordination. The Lord Jesus chose men to form the college of the twelve apostles, and the apostles did the same when they chose collaborators to succeed them in their ministry... The church recognizes herself to be bound by this choice made by the Lord himself. For this reason the ordination of women is not possible."
That's from Chapter 2, Article 6.

How many times have you picked up a catechism? ok, the church teaches killing in all circumstances is an evil and needs to be avoided. Now if killing a criminal to protect society is needed, it's still an evil but may have to be permitted to protect others. Killing one another is also wrong in scripture as well. The Catholic Church also approves of the theory of evolution as a viable theory to the process of life on earth. The only difference is that we believe it was guided in some way by God and not a 100% completely random event. The bible is not a science text book and teaches religious truths not scientific ones. These are not made up facts, these are official church teachings.
