This can't be good by any stretch - obviously it means all those people are without a job, but it also means their competitors are getting off easy too. More marketshare, more room to raise prices. -_-

I think we all knew Best Buy had the upper hand. Most unfortunate though. That darn president Bush, he's supposed to by creating jobs not taking them away. of coarse i didn't mean that, but thanks for asking :)

It's sad, so many jobs lost. But at least they'll have some good deals, just make sure you choose wisely because they jack up the prices to the MSRP, so the same product might be cheaper at other stores without a sale.

Not only that but its "all sales final" wich basically becomes no returns,no warranty hope it works.

Ever heard of saving a buck and cutting out the fascist capitalist Republican middle-man by buying online?

I buy everything online, except for everyday food, and I would buy my food online too and have it delivered by Fedex, to save a buck and put the local greedy turd retailer out of business too, if it were practical in today's climate.

nope as soon as you go into liquidation you lose your employee discount and they wont get to 50% off untill the last few weeks which by then all the good ones will be gone

Seriously though, Circuit City was where I bought a lot of my things. I liked the online purchases that you could pick up in store, the $12 off of newer games, the red uniforms. Geez, Best Buy just doesn't cut it :(

do you not see whats wrong with that statement. the internet is still the middleman. even if you buy something from the manufacture you pay for shipping which would make fedex the middle man

There might be one somewhere in Wyoming, but there's none where I live, and I live in the capital. :( And it's funny now that someone knows where I live. :P

if something does happen to it you call the warranty number. the warranty is still in effect cause it is done through a third party

Manufacturer yes. But how does a business that does not exsist anymore honor a warranty? I guess thats also why they warned consumers not to buy gift cards this christmas because if a store goes out of business they wont be honored. Just happened with Tweeter and there is a huge lawsuit, but even if its won how do you get money out of a company thats bankrupt/does not exsist. I am not talking out my *** I follow this stuff pretty regular, especially since teh economy tanked.

if you bought an extended warranty which you can still buy through liquidation it is handled by a third party so you are still covered. believe me i went through a circuit city liquidation i know how it works

at the beginning of liquidation the percent off of all video game consoles wont even cover tax unless you live in a state where sales tax is less than 5%

Yeah and a year or two ago CompUSA went out of business.

Although I never really liked CircuitCity and I am surprised they have been in business for as long as they have. I am not a fan of Best Buy bascially controlling the entire technology retail market.

p.s. CompUSA was my store

SEANMCAD

There's still a CompUSA open in my area. Right next to the local Circuit City, which is across the street from the local BestBuy, which just so happens to be across the street from the local BrandsMart. Which are all surrounded by no less than 4 GameStops and a few mom-and-pop electronic stores.

I used to work for Circuit ****ty 2 years ago. Such backstabbing management they had.

The CC that i work for was selling EVERYTHING at 10% off, including 360's and PS3's today. Heck, i could have sold a 99 cent candy bar at 10% off.
