CNN: ethically dubious?

On CNN, to my surprise. They were interviewing an actually hostage from the mumbai incident. An actual person who is trapped/forced inside his room (barricaded himself in) because of the terrorists. I find this a bit ethically dubious because in a sense, CNN is using the person who is in such a dire situation. Am I just over reacting?

Yes. I like it because it gives us an idea of what the person was thinking. So it makes for great news. Also they did agree to it.

They must have consented somehow, but it still doesn't feel right.

I suppose if the person really wanted to get the word out on exactly what was happening, I wouldn't blame CNN.

Yeah, that's pretty unsettling, but I think you'd be hard-pressed to find a journalist who wouldn't jump at the chance to interview someone in a situation like that.

If they forced the guy into the interview then maybe, but otherwise I don't see too much wrong with it. But in order to really tell I'd have to see this report.
