They are the ultimate band. I've seen them everytime they come to Denver. Me and my buddies met Mike Todd (bass) at Wendy's before the show, it was awesome.
I loved their new CD but I like their older stuff much more.
ive liked them since 2002 and have everything of thiers but ive sorta stopped listening to them since like 2006, except for there new album, but there good guys ive met all of them and even have my freshman year report card signed by claudio, it was in my pocket when i met him, he laughed and told me to get better grades then signed itdavehimself
They are some gnarley dudes. They don't come off as cocky I think alot of their fans can relate to them.
I like The Running Free. It's pretty catchy in an alternative metal sense. Haven't heard much other than that song and the one on Rock Band.IgNIght
My favorite songs are the Suffering, Devil in Jersy City and Good Apollo Pt. 1.
I like a couple of their songs, and they are talented, but after 3 or 4 songs they all start to sound the same to me. Sounds like generic corporate-sponsored metal to me.WildstarGoethe
I beg to differ. It may be my fanboyism speaking but I think they are being progressive. If you follow the music, you'll find that every song ties into a grand story. They even have comic books that go into detail of the meanings of the songs.
Excellent band, very musically knowledgeable. And I was the same way, sort of liked them at first, then grew to love them over time. Unlike most of todays music, which is catchy, but lacks musical depth, their stuff doesn't immediately grab you. You can't really appreciate it if you're just listening casually.
I do prefer their first two albums to their more recent ones. More proggy; just my style I guess.

I agree. Their latest album was meant to wrap up the story. Their next album should be sick because it'll shed some light on the origin of the story.

That's cool man. Everyone has their own tastes. I listened to a couple of their albums all the way through and definitely caught the sense that they were telling a story. They just seemed kind of bland to me after about half way through the albums. There are progressive bands out there who do it far better, according to my tastes. I think getting a different producer, or producing the music themselves might help them. Just my opinion. I still think they're pretty talented...they just didn't blow me away. That's all.

That's cool. Yeah, I think MSI and the Mars Volta are far more progressive in that sense. Claudio is just overflowing with talent, IMO. I could categorize him among the Robert Rodriguezs and Les Claypools.
[QUOTE="LJS9502_basic"]I think they are one of the worst bands I've ever heard.skivit
Apart from the cure right ?
I honestly like both. There are few bands I dislike.

 How utterly witty......you know the ToU are a good thing to read once in awhile.
lovem, saw em live w/linkin park a few months back, he has an amazing voiceinyourface_12
He has become a much better vocalist over the years, if you listen to their earlier stuff. Travis and Claudio simply shred on guitars.
