The coldest temperature I've ever been exposed to (without windchill) was around:

-50 degrees Celsius or -58 degrees Fahrenheit in Calgary, AB, Canada

Don't forget to convert the degrees! (Use http://www.wbuf.noaa.gov/tempfc.htm if you can't do it in your head).

Not much, maybe -15°C. It doesn't get extremely cold here in Iceland.

Probably about -8C (17.6F). Because the UK is an island on which you can't ever get particularly far from the sea, there are no major temperature extremes.

And for future reference, if you type "-8C in F" or "12.8km in miles" or "£29.99 in $" or pretty much any conversion into google, it will save you so much time compared to finding individual conversion sites.

I was visiting Edmonton one Christmas and got the pleasant surprise of -42C one day, which was fun. The instant you step out in a temperature like that, your boogers truly do freeze. A couple of minutes of inactivity, too, and your whole body is stiffening up as well. It was the only time I actually wore a scarf the way scarves were meant to be worn...when I grew up -20C was about the lowest it ever got, and it usually just sat around -10 in the middle of winter, sans wind. I like that better.

But now, I'llstick with Victoria, where the coldest I've seen it get in five years is -4C. And even that is uncommonly low.

Around -45C and below in Calgary. I thought I could walk home from a class trip to St. Mary's College (6km) and I ended up getting frostbite. It took about a year to fully heal. I really under-estimated the distance to my house, and the fact that everything was uphill.

I also partially remember an instance during High School where there was a delay in busses at the C-train station for two hours. By the time the bus came, I could barely keep conscious. I ended up waking up 10-15 minutes into the ride not realizing that I'd passed out; a dangerous sign.
