Parachutes and A Rush of Blood to the Head are great. Viva la Vida is decent. X&Y is just plain awful, and it brings the others down. All-in-all, they're not bad.
my parents love them lol. i like songs from their old stuff. i like their style and listen to plenty of bands like them. i dont like the lead singer though his voice annoys me. if you like their style but not the lead singer listen to as tall as lions http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4tEi4jQbvME theyre hella good.
Coldplay is so boring. Nothing interesting ever happens to their songs, unless you count the end. It's all just soppy emotional mush. Nothing to liven it up at all.
As a Radiohead fan, I think they've ripped off everything that made Radiohead famous and some how managed to commercialize it to a point beyond recognition.
I like Coldplay more now than I did before. Their first album was good, but then they started to get generic. By X&Y I was pretty much done with them. Viva La VIda though is their best album by far in terms of consistant quality. Coldplay used to open for a superior band called Embrace before they became famous. If anyone likes Coldplay here then you should check out Embrace, shame Coldplay got huge and nobody seems to care about Embrace.

Well their first album sounded a lot like Radiohead. Chris Martin even said he tried to emulate Radiohead, but a lot of their new stuff is a bit different. I think they have their own style now, even though they both fall under the same category in music genre.
