i think that the band coldplay is one of the most overrated bands ever

Even if i am not the fan of codeplay i liked few of their song and i think they are good not over rated...

personally i think they're bland and mostly con artists.

that being said, chicks like'em so i know how to play a couple tunes on guitar.

You know how I know your ... a fan of decent music? You acknowledge the farce that is the "Megagroup" Coldplay.

The ONLY thing I will give them is dude is married to the hottie Paltrow.

They're boring. There's nothing wrong with making mellow music, as long as you can keep it interesting enough all the way through a three-minute song. Coldplay can't.

I think their success is largely due to the fact that they came out at the right time. People were starting to get tired of Oasis' pretentious BS, and they also needed a break from Radiohead, something more radio-friendly and easier to listen to. So Chris Martin and his gang barge in with their U2-ish sound and everyone thinks they're the next big thing.

So much hate. :P

Well, I'll be the odd man out and say that they're probably one of my favorite bands. Parachutes is one of my favorite albums.

Their good but very overrated. Definatly not my favourite band.

Eh, I always thought The Fray was overrated. There's not a single song by them that I actually like.

Anyway I like Coldplay and quite probably people who hate them are just those who are bound to reject all mainstream music or want to be "indie" >_>

I listened to a few of their albums (A Rush of Blood to the Head, X&Y, Viva la Vida), but the only song I really enjoyed was Clocks. They had a couple other ones that I thought were decent, and I kept the entire ARoBttH album on my iPod just because I never got around to deleting some of the songs from it, but the only song I listen to with any consistency is Clocks.

After the, like 80th time, it gets old. :P And I never understood the whole Radiohead thing as Coldplay sounds nothing like them. Besides, at least Coldplay can still make decent albums. :P In Rainbows was soooooo bad.

I'm not gonna say that Coldplay sucks, but I think they're bland and not very interesting to listen to. A couple tracks are good (Yellow, for example), but otherwise there are better bands thatn Coldplay.

Sorry, I'm just a little edgy, because in the past I've had a lot of people call me a "poser" because I listen mainly to classic rock/older hard rock/older metal, and said I should at least try listening to modern music. Thing is, I have tried a lot of modern music, and didn't like quite a bit of it (esp. modern metal).

Well, I didn't take offense or anything like that. You tried and you didn't like it, but at least you tried it. So many people hate a certain band or genre with out ever listening to it, so it's nice to see someone who actually makes sense. :P

the rest of their songs are kinda boring

Very derivative mainstream band of which I can't understand the appeal.
