Meh-I feel I got in here via a glitch in the system. Anyway, the place feels like a massive frat house, and I'm not much of a frat boy.

Don't party, learn how to take tests based on professors, stay organized, go to tutoring, and take good notes.

With your GPA, I'd suggest someplace like Vanderbilt as your "reach" school, with public schools (preferably the honors school if you can get in) as your surer bets. Places like Vanderbilt might look at your test scores and see that you are capable of handling the work (especially if you get good teacher recommendations) and accept you. What state do you live in, BTW, as that is necessary information due to the fact that I need to see if public school would be an option.

Um... I think personally Vanderbilt is wayyyyy out of my reach.
Anyway, I live in California.

There's still a possibility-about 1 in 5, I'd estimate, that you will get in, though this definitely depends upon teacher recommendations (and take the ACT as well-some people, like myself, do far better on it than on the SAT). Also, I suggest you apply to pretty much all of the California state schools, as they tend to be rather good, as well as, for safety schools, local but non-community-college institutions (whatever the CA equivalents are to the University of Houston).

Lol, I almost went there but then I ended up getting a crapload of scholarship action to the University of Texas at Tyler (which is where I live anyway) so I decided that getting paid to go to school was just a better way to go. I didn't think Rice would be as fratty as you describe :/[QUOTE="thepwninator"][QUOTE="o_hai_david"][QUOTE="thepwninator"]Yes-Rice University.
