hello.  i'm a science major, second year in college.  i've chosen biology-genetics as my major (which is difficult but i hope it will be ultimately rewarding, not just money).  my gpa right now is roughly a little higher then 3.2?  i need a 3.5 (eek).  which is very possible (i hope) since i have time left.  but if i really want to do well (i.e. get nearly straight A's) do you think i should give up gaming? i don't know any biology major who plays video games and maintains a 3.5 gpa but that's because i don't know many gamers and i don't know if biology majors play games!  i don't know if have a chance.  are you in college with a 3.5 gpa and a gamer?!

I failed a class due to an absence in my first semester, but I've managed to pull my GPA up to about a 3.2 in the year-and-a-half since.  So yes, I think it's possible.  But then again, I don't have a job(at the moment) to take up any time and my major is not a science.

Just cut down, you usually have time to game at the beginning of each semester and after a test. Then save the month before finals for school only.

I am in colege but i dont care much for my marks aslong as i pass.  Why do you need a 3.5 gpa?  I actually have beaten more games at university than in high school.

*Sigh* what is it with these grade averages? You should have more time than you can throw a stick at, your probably just not using it very well or trying to cram too much in. Truthfully if anything it's the amount of time I spend on GS that needs to be cut down more than anything else.

I agree why would you need a 3.5 to graduate?!  Unless you want to go to graduate school I suppose...

But most colleges you only ned a 2.0 or maybe 2.5 to get your degree.

I am in college, and gaming will effect your grades. The best thing to do is just play weekends or whenever you are sure you understand and are up to date with all your classes. Just dont game way to much like you use to.

I am not in college anymore (I have graduated) and I had no problem.  It's simply time management.  Study when you have to, play when you can.  This is no different then any other time in life.

If done in moderation, it's possible. During the school year... cut down on your game time, or change the types of games you play. Catch up on the games you really want to play durink breaks or over summer vacation.

the trick in college, for all problems, is time management, organize your day and you are golden, never be late, never stray from the sleep range of 3-7 hours, never radically change your eating times, never let your girl/boy friend rule over you, never play games before you do your work and never compare your stats to other students... well in the way u do, that is bad. also seeing as you need to get to a 3.5 i would advise getting there before u game, zelda/Master chief etc. will always be there. get your grades up and keep them up, that is your priority, never ever play unless you know you have the time too.

skip here: time management, anything is possible, balance.

I'm almost finished my first year of college and I've been gaming more than I did in high school and I'm going just fine. You can do it buddy!

I have not had any trouble with it... I guess it helps that I do not have a girlfriend or a job... but hopefully that will all change soon.

ended school with a 3.8 in computer engineering...  had to cut back gaming a lot in school...  but you do not have to give it up completely.. you just need to budget your study time well.
