In Flames simply cannot be clear. There is no clarity within that band. Those are my statements.

I haven't enjoyed a new In Flames CD in almost 10 years.

I do enjoy my In Flames. However i like The Bled and The Human Abstract more.

Come Clarity was the best thing to come out In Flames in a long time. The new cd was meh. Too many choruses. Good in its own right but not up to there standards.

I do like the song come clarity though. Though, I think Anders can do better. Just hearing his clear vocals in Sky Dancer I think he has a terrific voice that he could use better in his music if wanted to.

Because if you know anything about metal, about 95% of the bands we all first fall in love with on their first album get pressure from the label to be more radio friendly and some just like to try out a new sound. I mean face it if In Flames stuck with the same exact sound they would be horrible. It would be like listen to the same damn thing over and over again. Unfortunately sometimes when bands do this it doesn't appeal to their original audience. A good example of this is Korn, here is a band that I really liked their first album and their second but after that is a complete waste of time in my opinion and they totally drifted away from what made them such a great band to listen too. Now thats all in opinion because many people like their new stuff and thats because they didn't relate it much with their older stuff, either because they never heard it or don't like it. Unfortunately thats how metal is, they start off heavy and then go lighter as the years go on. It is a trend that has happened to every band that I have loved that was once underground. You also can't get on them for wanting to make an extra buck but lightening up a bit either.

EDIT: One band that I feel should change up their stuff is chimaira reason being is because they did that in their second album and it was great, but now they haven't tried anything different with their style, so now it all kind of sounds like the same stuff just rehashed and it doesn't sound good. I'm happy what In Flames has done over the years, Come Clarity was an alright album, it had some great tunes, but I just don't understand the new one and I really don't care for it that much.
