comic con is an event where nerds geeks from all over come to celebrate the love of all things nerdy geeky etc..

basically me and a couple of friends from england are within this group of people and have seen videos on youtube etc and want to go (one of my friend she wants to go and is trying to persuade my friends) My basic question is what experince is the comic con? is it worth going to? we are thinking if we can save enough money we can all go to next years event but saving up for an event like this in gamespots opinion is it worth it for the experience? whether you have been or not for whatever reason would you take the leap and declare youself geeky enough to go to such an event, im not sure but my geeky friend she like really really wants to go !

How do you feel about standing in lines and breathing a haze of smelly nerdsweat for a long weekend? If this sounds appealing to you, Comic Con could be the greatest experience of your life!

Its the most fun thing you have ever done in your life. Trust me. ONLY if you go there as a cosplayer. Uploading them for comments is a bonus.

As the most qualified person to speak on this I would say that it is indeed quite worth the experience as it's the single largest gathering of all things comics/anime/manga/TV n' such things. It's not really a nerd fest anymore though as like video games it's very big business and very mainstream although I know how much the public mainstream and many of the attendees still like to think of them as such.

Because it is mainstream it's now quite a bit more of a struggle with crowds though than it used to be but honestly after they got used to dealing with maximum capacity they con folks seem to have gotten better at controlling it all with better venues for things such as movie trailer sneak peeks and the like. But...because it is so insanely crowded, when you first arrive on Wednesday you need to go through the entire planner of events and map out exactly how much time you want to devote to certain events. Events you know will be packed will involve you waiting for several hours before it starts just to get a chance to get in to some of the more frantic ones so it's all a matter of what you're going to sacrifice to see or do something else.

Or you could ignore a lot of it and just go to some of the very strange smaller events (usually Tony Millionaire holds disturbing get togethers) and just stay out on the floor and shop shop shop! Have fun!
